  1. There. I translated for you. That's what us wimmens (at least some of us wimmens) hear when you talk and show yer rockin' bawd at the same time.
  2. That's okay. It gave me an excuse to come back here and look at @@Dub gams again!
  3. I think this shows are very, very different we all are. I was never self-conscious about my naked body when I was bigger than I am now. I had large round breasts, big hips, and a large round booty. There were plenty of men that liked that. Now? Now I'm... deflated. Everything is like a deflated balloon. My large round booty is no longer large OR round. It's FLAT! Harrummmpphhhh!!! These breasts that could stop traffic? That can, and did, make three different men walk into walls??? Now they're speedbumps (meaning cannot stop traffic). Now if there's any possibility whatsoever that nakedness might be coming, I feel like I should apologize in advance. Seriously. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.
  4. You're doing great! Keep up the good work!
  5. Call your surgeon's office and/or nutritionist.
  6. Oops, forgot the rest of the question. I don't think the presence or absence of a preop diet would have much effect on recovery.
  7. My surgeon doesn't do a preop diet either. He says if you could lose weight on your own, you wouldn't need him.
  8. So I went and had the stitches out. Holy Mother of Gawd. I think I saw little stars. It wasn't my oral surgeon that took them out but his partner. He reviewed everything and said they opened up my gums quite extensively and he was not surprised it still hurt. He said it may hurt for another took weeks. But I'm OFF ORAL RESTRICTION! Oh yeah, I don't think I mentioned that, nothing was allowed in my mouth except food and drink! LOL! No kissing or nuthin! Not that I want any of "nuthin"... dangit, pain is a mofo. He is going to check me again in four weeks.
  9. @KindaFamiliar You did that without asking for pics???? You're a better person that I am! LOL!
  10. I go in this morning to have the stitches out. @@honeybunz How long did it take for the pain to go away? It's been 9 days since my surgery, and it still hurts. I had most of my stomach yanked out and it didn't hurt for this long!!!
  11. This was my program as well. My surgeon doesn't use protein supplements or shakes. They don't expect you to get in your protein until you're on solid food. I was back at work less than a week after surgery. Everyone heals at different rates.
  12. I'm as tough as nails, and don't really care what other people think most of the time. In this instance, I was talking about literally fitting physically into the world. Socially fitting in is a whole 'nother story. And now, I fit! I fit the airplane seat, I fit the restaurant booth, I fit the seat at the basketball game, I fit into the chairs with arms!

  15. So you all know I've been swimming in the cesspool that is online dating. People don't go on "first dates" anymore, they go on "meet and greets". I feel so old. I get it, though, you're not stuck sitting through a dinner with someone you have nothing in common with. Last night I had a first meet. We went to the park near my house, and all of the seating areas were full. They converted part of the park to a skateboarding area, so it's a lot busier than it used to be. My date suggested sitting on a grassy hill. My first thought was, am I going to be able to get my happy arse up off the ground afterwards?? I pretty much hopped right up when we were done talking! I was grinning like a mad woman!
  16. Please point out the rudeness because I missed it. I thought people were being very kind to you. No one said, "HAVE YOU LOST YOUR FREAKING MIND????" Now THAT would be unkind. I think it's important in the early days to follow your eating plan to the letter. When your stomach is fully healed and you are farther out, you can start making good decisions for yourself. Until then, trust your healthcare professionals. At week 2, a lot of people are at the "full liquids" stage and some are at pureed foods. This means strained Soup, sugar free pudding, sugar free Jello, mashed potatoes, hummus, mashed avocado. Beef usually doesn't come into the picture until around 6 weeks or so.
  17. I just had a followup yesterday at my surgeon's office. The NP that I've been seeing said something to the effect of "the dreaded 7 month stall", when I said I've been sitting at the same weight for two weeks; however, my pants are getting looser.
  18. As of 2013, stretta was covered by Medicare in 12 states, by Tricare and the VA, and by select other commercial carriers. Medicare doesn't cover experimental procedures, so perhaps you can use that info in your appeal. http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/stretta-procedure-for-gerd-successful-10-year-follow-up-data-presented-at-digestive-disease-week--sustained-improvement-long-term-efficacy-208047551.html
  19. Start getting the young ones used to it now. Say something like "mommy has an owie tummy" when they want to jump or climb on you.
  20. I had an open gallbladder surgery, one semi-natural childbirth, and one unplanned csection after two days of labor. VSG was a walk in the park compared to those. For my csection, I physically couldn't get out of bed until the next day.
  21. Did you say something? I can't hear anything when I'm looking at those legs. Yowzzzza!
  22. Update: Had my dental surgery at 8 am today. Oh. My. Gawd. Injection to the ROOF of my mouth to numb it! I started shaking so much the dentist asked if I was okay. I told him it was adrenaline, fight or flight, and I couldn't do either one! Once he got everything numbed up, it wasn't too bad. So the postop instructions include an ice pack for my face, and the assistant dentist told me I could get a cold drink and when I take a drink, hold the cold liquid on the surgery side before swallowing. Now, I'm thinking, won't it be sensitive to cold? But in my adrenaline-induced shaking state, I do it anyway. HOLY MOTHER OF GAWD. I should have listened to my inner voice. I'll skip the graphic description of what it feels like, and just say, I hate her. Side note: The dentist himself is super hunky, smooth velvety voice, and amazing eyes. Hey, I'm a sexual being, what can I say.
  23. Pictures. This thread is nothing without pictures.
