Hi! I am a 35 year old female. Married to a wonderful supportive man. I live in the Fort Worth, TX area. I am a case worker for the State of Texas, so I work A LOT. I had lap band on March 28, 2014. I have lost 30 pounds including the 2 weeks pre-op diet, but have recently not lost anything. Struggling and go for 1st fill Monday. I would love to have a buddy in my area..thanks.

Hey, I too am looking for a buddy. I was banded in 2005. I had been diagnosed with Addison's disease and was put on two different steroids and have gained weight back. People keep telling me that it was not my fault that I was gaining weight because it was the steroids. I started to become upset because of the weight gain and then started to make horrible food choices and stopped exercising. I told myself that it was because I am sick. I have gained around 50 pounds in the last three years. I have decided I need to go back to the basics with my lap band. My habits are up and down and so is my weight. I still have restriction so I know it works I too am very discouraged and determined to get back on track. I use my fitness pal to log all foods, Water and exercise. I would love a buddy and/or advice. I was banded in August of 2011, and lost 80 pounds in about a year. In October of 2012 I became pregnant with my second child. I gained 40 pounds during my pregnancy, and have been gaining and losing the same 10 pounds for over a year.
I am very discouraged, but also determined to get back on track. Starting a two week liquid diet tomorrow to try to shrink my pouch and get back to losing.

Hi!! I had my lapband back in 2008 after I had my 1st child and was really struggling to get pregnant again and lose weight..had my lap band and I lost about 50 pounds then got pregnant back to back and now ever since then I've really struggled to find that happy fill place again and start losing weight. I have really bad back problems on top of that and get steroid/cortisone injections every 3-5 months so it makes working out really hard at times due to bad back/leg pain.
I would just love some suggestions on great receipes that anyone likes that fill you up and maybe just a great friend to talk to about the lap band! I don't have but 1 local friend who was banded but she gave up on her band and had it completely unfilled. I just recently had mine refilled and am almost to where I should be I think, but I would love to just have someone to talk with about the band and things that work for them. =-) Thank you!! I'm in Tucson, AZ too.
