  5. Hello Everyone, I'm Leanora and I had my surgery on 12/15. Everything went great and I was home the next day after my surgery! While I was in the hospital I didn't have much pain, but when I got home it really started to bother me, but now I only have pain in the middle of the night! My highest weight was 443, my day of surgery weight 382, and my current weight is 372. I'm glad I found this post because I am dealing with the same things as everyone else and don't feel so alone.

Unbearably painful post op - 4 days out

Hi, I'm sorry to hear things haven't gotten better. I had my surgery Monday too, and my doctor put me on strong pain meds because I told him that I have a very low tolerance for pain, and I was determined to return to the gym in one week to start at least walking on the treadmill. Like the earlier suggestion your doctor needs to give you something stronger. I have strong pain at time, but I make myself walk to the mail box or up and down my long hallway to help with preventing blood clots. I was told after the in should be manageable, but everyone is different. The night of my surgery I had no pain, and I was up walking with no problems witch is why I was sent home the next day, but once I was home it hit me like a Mack truck. So just take it one day at a time and remember to walk in your hallways or to the mailbox at least.
  10. I able to walk better and the pain isn't so bad until its bedtime or I'll wake up in the middle of the night hurting. I called my doctor and he just told me to take a dose of pain meds before bed and to set my alarm to wake me up when my next dose of pain meds is do so I don't wake up hurting.
  11. I just took my toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, change of clothes to wear home! The doctor told me not to bring a lot of stuff because most of it you won't even use!

    No clue where to start?

Most insurances require you to start the process by being on an supervised diet for six months. You're surgeon will clear it up for you and answer any questions you will have.

    No clue where to start?

After your doctor gives you the Ok, he will refer you to the surgeon, then the surgeon will walk you through your insurance requirements!

    Liquid diet:

For my diet I had to have 3-4 protein shakes and in between then I could have sugar free jello or popsicles. I also had to drink plenty of water.
