  1. Hi All, I had my surgery on December 8th and am doing well. My surgeon left a G-Tube? in me for 6 weeks which I can use if I feel that I didn't get enough water or protein in. They have been doing this for a few years as they found that many struggled with dehydration and ended up back in the hospital. They also found that because of the dehydration, people were tired and didn't have a successful start at this new life. I do appreciate having this backup just in case I don't have a good day with my proteins or water. I have lost 16 lbs since the 8th and already my face is changing which is even weird to me. I keep doing a double take when I'm in fornt of a mirror. I wish you all success. Judi
  2. I'm home but can I just say OMGEEEE! Last evening/night was rough. As Jerry said it hurt to get out of bed, walk, pee, talk, laugh (I'm a glggler so I had to practice restraint) I've read on here that day 2 was the worse because the anesthesia wears off and boy is that right! All through the night I had them give me pain meds back to back which made it more bareable. I got home around 3pm exhausted because we all know we don't sleep in hospitals. I took a nap, showered (thank you Jesus for soap and water) I don't take such things for granted. Had some of my moms homemade chicken Soup (broth only) and a bit of Jello. Now I'll be doing some walking around the house and sipping Water. Thye left a "feeding tube" in me just in case I can't get my water or Protein in I can feed myself through it. It lessens the nervous pressure to make sure you're not dehydrating. Throughout all the pain I didn't have the buyers remorse I've heard others say they've had. One day at a time and so greatful for this new chance to be me. So glad to be home!

  5. I had my surgery on the 8th and am doing well also. I have some pain in my abdomen and moving a little slower but otherwise all the foods I have tried are going down perfectly. My family also laughs at how much I eat now. I chuckle too!

    December 2014 Surgery

My surgery is scheduled for Decemer 8th. I'm starting week two of my 2 protein and one sensible meal a day. Im excited but also nervous.
  8. Mine took 4 days but I was very proactive. I made sure the doctors office did indeed send it in and then I called and checked on the progress with my insurance company daily. The knew I was serious and wanted an answer soon. Hang in there it'll come.

    That's the trouble with fear...

Very well said. My surgery is on Decemer 8th and I have "backed out" a couple of times already, in my mind at least. I also feel as though I am putting myself at risk because this surgery isn't "urgently necessary" but we all know that our weight kills us slowly. Putting a stop to that now is important and I know necessary for me but still, I keep vasilating whether yay or nay. I'm sure I'll go through with it but that fear creeps in more and more the closer I get. Good Luck to you.
