  1. Nope, completely normal. Lots of swelling that needs to go down..
  2. You will be able to eat a little bit more at 9 months to a year, so just be conscious to make those choices healthy ones. One food i find very filling and low in calories is Tuna Steak I get from Aldi's. I can barely eat one 4oz steak and a bite or two of salad. Learn to eat lean, and clean and the cravings go away. Before I couldn't pass a Dunkin Doughnuts!! Now I can care less, I rather eat a few pieces of steak or chicken... Fast food is a thing of the past, I have no urge to eat it..And I too eat 6 to even 8 small meals a day, but i train VERY hard, if I dont train Im not as hungry... In fact,on my Leg days I can eat like a champ!! I probably get in 2000 to 2200 calories a day now, I had metobolic testing done a few years ago that said I need 2700 calories a day and 3600 a day on the days I excercise, allegedly...3600 calories is a TON of food..Probably impossible to eat for us without triple chocolate peanutbutter cake...lol
  3. I drink wine, Jack Daniels and beer on OCCASION, that's the key, ON OCCASION not part of my regular diet...Do the doctors tell you not to drink again? Sure, some doctors do, but the whole point to this is to lead a normal life and having the occasional social drink is part of a normal life. I tend to eat everything in a balanced way and in moderation. Smaller more frequent meals in my go to routine, so instead of 3 meals a day I do 6 to 8 meals but smaller in size and balanced. I try and get my sugars/carbs in by mid day and lean out the eating as it gets later in the day.. Part of a successful journey will be finding what works for you and what is SUSTAINABLE for life, not just for 6 months. Remember anything you do now is better than whatever it was you were doing before surgery , you just need to fine tune it and find what works for your body type. My body type and muscular frame will not allow me to eat 3 only times a day, its just not possible for me, I need to fuel myself.. I did all the math and if I were literally 0% body fat I would still weight 180lbs, and 0% body fat is not even possible, at 15% which is fairly lean I would still be 210lbs, so if I ate like I was 180 I would go nuts...So you need to figure out the right eating for YOU and what is sustainable for a life long commitment and not follow a cookie cutter diet plan given to you by a surgeon that is using BMI index charts from the 1940's.

My personal VSG journey take 2

#1 Take an antacid if you already havent been, #2 call your doctor to see what he recommends cause it should be getting easier not harder. I will confess by week 3 I was thoroughly sick of crystal light and the sweet protein drinks. Try switching flavors or brands perhaps. Also try adding some salty foods/liquids like Tomato soups it might help break up the bleh feeling from the fake sweet. Once you get to eating somewhat normal foods it will be easier, but you really have to focus on the water and protein goals right now.. And dont eat Jello, it has ZERO nutritional value...Try Greek yogurt or Icelandic yougurt, I like a brand called "Siggis"... Add flavor to your water, Crystal light or Try tea...Whatever it takes to get the liquids, you dont want to wind up on an IV in the ER for dehydration.. But call your Dr for some real advice first.

    Old habits creeping back

Bruh, cmon....Did you go through all of this to go right back to where you started? Is that the end game? Cmon man, you're better than this. You need to dust yourself off and get back on the wagon again....You didnt come this far to give up and go back did you? Get back on a high protein and low carb program and get back on track, stay away from fast foods and soda man.

My personal VSG journey take 2

More before and afters.. The last one was taken at fright fest last October, I was about 298 or so and borderline depressed and ready to give up...The after shot was this past weekends down Atlantic City and I feel like I can take on the effin world,( perhaps its the Jack Daniels I was drinking at the time..) But Im happier than I have been in a long time. I shunned cameras and mirrors for over 15 years, now I welcome them... You owe this to yourself and your loved ones!!!

    I hope that's a "dang" of approval 😂😂😂
  10. Take it easy on the ab workout for a while, mine still bothers me a bit when I push it. Also plenty of fluids, I got dizzy spells when first standing up for about 3 to 4 months. Monitor that if you're going to hit the sauna.

    Kettlebell

Hahahah, you ladies are brutal horn dogs on here!!!😉

    Kettlebell

I do basic kettlebell swings and it gets me sweating and winded almost as much as deadlifts. Good tool, but be sure to do them properly or you can get hurt.
  13. You will need to work at keeping a routine of eating properly after the surgery, and supplements and vitamins will be part of that. Its not as drastic as it sounds, trust me. A few pills in the morning a few in the afternoon and youll be fine. But you need to want to do it and make the change and embrace being healthy and happy again.. Check out some of my Youtube videos they explain it better.
  14. I was like this for 3 to 4 weeks till I ate soft foods, then my energy levels stabilized. You have to make sure your getting in your water and proteins. Its critical at this stage.
  15. I frequent the sauna in my gym, no issue..I even went to the Russian Banya which has much hotter rooms than my gym and no issue. Im about 7 or 8 months post op. As long as you hydrate, no issue at all man..
  16. I address this is my videos. You basically need to eat like a normal man would eat and not totally deprive yourself of the "occasional" treat, otherwise youll go nuts. This is why those fad diets of eating no carbs or no fats, fail us. I too can eat any food of choice just much smaller quantities per sitting. I found that a 6 to 8 meal grazing style of eating works best for me and my body and caloric needs. I work out alot and retained all of my muscle and lost over 70lbs. I eat small meals more frequently. I personally dont like the feeling of eating a larger meal 3 times a day, and feels it slows me down. Im sure to knock back 2 protein shakes a day included in this plan. I sneak the occasional junk food within reason, but keep it sensible and infrequent. You need to find what works for you, and being a 6'3' man I assume you have lots of muscle you will need to keep feeding, so a more frequent, smaller portion diet may work for you. Oh and dont be afraid of good carbs, dont deprive your body of good foods, eat them....Youll feel better and more satisfied.

    Dizzy spells

I had them also, mostly when I first stood up. I almost blacked out once. My doctor said I needed more water, but i think it was just from the rapid weight loss and drop in blood pressure. Its normal, and will pass. Just make sure you are getting in ALL of your protein and water needs!!
  20. This feeling will last till you start eating more solid foods. I had it, it sucks, but it passes when you move to the next phase.

I would wait till energy levels stabilize which usually are when you can get some solid foods in your body at 4 weeks. First 3 to 4 weeks for me I have low energy and got some dizzy spells where I almost fainted. I didnt go back to work for 8 weeks, but I have a much more physical type of job than most.
  23. There is not a food I have tried that I cant eat. Some sauces and dressings give me a bit of acid reflux, but nothing major. I have been lucky, Steak, chicken, fish, beef jerky, eggs, everything goes down fine...
  24. I just eat like a normal human being and stay away from crap. portion control is key first and foremost in my opinion. Secondly is selection of foods for your specific needs and goals. I prefer a higher protein, higher fats lower carbs diet, which works well for my needs. Third most important is DO NOT deprive yourself totally. If you want an occasional treat, have it, just dont over indulge. Stay away from processed cold cuts, sodas, sucralose and anything with the words Frutcose or corn syrup in it...Also I hate the fact that a lot of these nutritionists push cheeses as a source of protein on their clients. Cheese is high in saturated fat and not worth it as a source of protein in your diet.
