Haven’t been able to talk to my surgeon... he’s been busy.....
Just wondering if it was possible that I could be able to take Senokot S day after surgery?

I'm a fan of magnesium pill. Have been taking 1 daily dose for two months now (after struggling with Constipation for 2 months after surgery) and it is making all the difference.
Did you try Miralax at all?
-
Thank you all for replying! Where can I find this Smooth Move tea? Sounds better than constantly taking stool softeners.
You can take magnesium gel tabs after having the surgery?
-
Thank you both for commenting. I am gonna talk to my surgeon asap. I was just stressed out and worried. You both helped me calm down a little with telling me that I can take a softener right after surgery!
Thanks again!!

Hello Everyone,
My surgery date is Nov 13, I worked so hard to obtain this date. I am afraid I may back out of surgery.
We are going to get real personal here lol. I suffer from hemorrhoids and an occasional anal fissure that tears about once a month. So basically I have a hard time passing regular stools.
I keep seeing people talk about Constipation after surgery. I can’t handle that, not at all. I take stool softeners daily in a pill. Most days it hurts passing soft stools. My doctor told me I can start my liquid diet early to help lose some extra weight. I did. I also got extremely constipated. Literally had to go to the ER for help. If this is how it’s gonna be after surgery I don’t know if I can do it.
Let’s say One day after surgery could I actually crush my stool softeners to help me?
I just want to break down and cry. Sorry for whining here but man my life depends on this surgery and I can’t handle knowing that I might have to go through what I just went through..
Thank you for taking your time to read this.
Casey.

Forgot to ask my question, how was your pain level after surgery?
-
Oh man, I just got the call that my insurance has approved my surgery!!! Woot woot. I haven’t been nervous at all until now.

Is it really hard to just keep sipping lol my NUT told me that I have to sip Water and Protein Shakes all day. I work in refineries there is no way I can sip all day like that. I mean 75% time I'm welding and they require a half face respirator to be worn if you're welding or working near someone welding. So basically I'm always wearing one.

I just had my last nutrition consult today. So this is it, just gotta send info for the approval! I'm getting super nervous lol.
Any advice that you might want to share about your experiences?hmills653 reacted to this -

I started my journey in October of 2015. At my first appointment I weighed 540 pounds. At surgery on 5/29/16 I was 480. I am now a year and a month out and I weigh 265! I have now lost more than I weigh. I've lost 275 pounds. Even though I'm not at goal I just had a panniculectomy on June 5th. Insurance covered it. I had to get it off now because it was so large it was giving me a lot of trouble. They removed over 15 pounds of skin. It was the most my surgeon has removed. Good luck to you!
Amazing Job!! Congrats on all you have accomplished!! That is so awesome! Any tips so that I may have great success like you?!

Hey peeps, Well I'm officially down 100 pounds before surgery. I just had my last info class for my insurance. So my surgery date is getting closer!
I was just wondering how much weight I'm looking to lose with someone at my weight which is 479 now. Anyone on her still around that started there sleeve journey around my weight?

Ehh don't worry about your insecurities, go out have fun that's what dating is all about. If they don't like you for who you are or what you have been through then don't worry about them its their loss.

Is there a public pool or recreation center or YMCA in your area? How about any rehab facilities that utilize aquatics? Water excercises can be very effective and something your back may be able to tolerate. And speaking of Water, it is imperative to stay very well hydrated. Water is required for the metabolism of fat. Without enough water, the fat isn't going anywhere. You should be shooting for 150+ ounces/day.
There is a YMCA about 90 minutes away. I will be sure to drink plenty of water from here on out. I did some research about water intake and how it helps with your metabolism. Also by reading your post that reminded me that my Nut gave me a exercise physiologist number to call! Hopefully that will help too!

You're doing great! Are you able to move a little to help things along?
Well she has me doing chair exercises. I messed my lower back up a couple years ago. That's what got me here I wasn't able to walk more than 20 steps. I still have a hard time walking but it's getting better. I can go about 3 minutes of steady walking before having to sit or lean to loosen muscles in my lower back. Thank you for your reply!

I'm no doctor, but it sounds like your metabolism is slowing down.
Remember this: You've lost 42 pounds in 3 months. That's awesome! It didn't take you 3 months to get to 579 so it won't take 3 months to lose 130!
Keep going and remember that we're here for support and inspiration. You can do it!
Thank you for the encouragement!

You have done well on losing. Can you get another opinion from another surgeon though? Sleeve is safer surgery then bypass and less time under anesthesia. There are many people I have heard of around your weight that have had sleeve done safely.
Yea I was thinking of getting a second opinion. I will be looking tomorrow about calling some other local surgeons. Thank you for your reply!

I don’t know. I have a hard time now though, main reason I’m terrified of getting this done. I don’t need anymore headaches down there lol.
