I don't think BC takes long to approve. You just have to have met all their requirements first, that's the hardest part. I didn't get my surgery scheduled until approval was done. They must be pretty sure! Made it through pre op testing today. Woo hoo...no more hoops to jump through!

Thanks Dara. Just going to keep on taking the tylenol. I thought I was more prepared...sigh. Don't have much energy today. Glad I have this day off to adjust. Got all my testing done so I should be good to go on the 15th! We are on our way!

Day two preop diet. Can't sleep got up at 5 am even though I have the day off. Headache! But one day down, 6 to go! Pre-op testing later today. Woo hoo--more tests! Still feeling positive though.

Day one of preop diet is almost over! I survived. By this time next week us 12-15ers will be on with our new journey. Can't believe it. Went to my work Christmas dinner party at one of my fav restaurants. Had to go. They made me a delicious plate of steamed veggies, I forgot to take my Protein drink though so I am a little short on that today. Everlearning I am a believer in Airborne. I don't know if it would be allowed but it sure helps me to not get a cold or to get rid of one quicker. At least I think so.

It's starting to feel real now. Pre op diet starts in the morning.

AJP I start my liquid diet on Mon. too. Also only 7 days for we. I think we can do it!! Seems like everyone else has started liquids and all this week I had food funerals. Went to my favorite places and ate my favorite things. I didn't over indulge or do desserts but I have enjoyed my meals. Might do Mexican tonight for my final "meal" for awhile. Not going to feel bad about either! On to a new way of life tomorrow. Gotta get my shakes in a row. Of course my work planned their Christmas dinner tomorrow night. I am obligated to go. I guess I'll be having green beans for dinner hope they don't mind if I take my protein shake!

Why would your surgery get cancelled? That's not something I have heard of. Good luck to you, just keep on trying!

Welcome mroth. the 15th is my date too. Just remember you being healthy is the best thing you can do for all your family. Hang in there.

I quit smoking with a great online support group. Six..almost seven years later I'm still in touch with many of them. So nice to be able to come here and share with someone else who is in the same place.

Hi Kylie! I don't have to do full liquids until the 8th and last day Clear Liquids. Sounds yummy. LOL I'm from Warren, MI, just outside Detroit.

I think we're all going to be nervous about that! I am thankful that I only have to do one week. Keep us posted on how you are doing and if you find anything you can have that is good or bad. I was thinking about starting my diet a day early since I can't imagine doing the first day of it on a work day. Good luck, I know you can do it!

Thanks for the info Skywalker. I don't like Premier Protein either. Optifast tastes pretty good but you can only get it at a weight loss center and it's pricey. Probably has a lot of sugar in in. I do have a have a costco card so I might give those a try.

Search for BariBuddies and you will have to look for all groups. It's the one with the girls arms stretched out.

I found it!

Yes, I think all the moms are worried. It's a mom thing. But maybe it will stop all the hints about what I could/should/do to lose weight! Will check out the fb page. Excited for the support! The text will be a nice option too. My liquid diet doesn't start until 1 week before surgery. I am scared to cut out caffeine...I have been cutting down. Such a thing to worry about!

I would LOVE to do a group email or have a text buddy or 5 or 10! Support is so important. I will try to respond to everyone with my info. I wonder if we can do a group message here? This is a little hard to navigate. I have to do full liquids for 6 days and Clear Liquids for the last day before surgery. Bought some Isopure Protein drinks from GNC today. I hope they taste good. 40g protein in one bottle.

Thanks for your encouraging words Kathy! I'm making myself my preop shopping list this morning. Got a lot of things to remember! Making a list and checking it twice! On the way....

Christmas Gastric Sleeve Surgery Booked - December 21st! Anyone else in December?
get2chris replied to tenzinblue's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So happy to have a group! I quit smoking with an online support group and the help was just awesome. I am still friends with many 6 years later. Not sure how to navigate this site very well but I have tried adding a bunch of you as friends---please add me if you are so inclined. Maybe that makes it easier to find each other's posts. I like Muscle Milk Protein drinks a little. Seems like a lot of people like Premier Protein but I didn't. Today I am going to pick up some of the clear no carb ones from GNC because I guess you can have those on while on Clear liquids and 2 of them a day would meet most of the protein goals. I have two weeks left of "real" food. Is anyone else finding things not tasting quite so good anymore? Then one week of liquids and just a day of clear liquids I think preop. Can't wait to get it done and over. Hubby is very supportive. He always has been. Still tells me I am beautiful. Not a big guy at all. His method of losing weight is to just stop overeating--if only it was so easy. Have a great Sunday everyone and keep posting! -
Wow!! I am excited to have so many people so close to my date. Can we keep in touch? I am excited now but will probably start getting nervous...hope to hold off the nerves for awhile.

Christmas Gastric Sleeve Surgery Booked - December 21st! Anyone else in December?
get2chris replied to tenzinblue's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yay!! I am happy to have some fellow sleevers to share with. My preop tests are the same, ekg, labs, chest xray and meet with the anesthesiologist. One of my biggest worries is waking up sick. I hate that!!! I always wake up sick. I am praying on that and hope the anesthesiologist will be able to take care of me. I don't think this is a surgery that I would want to wake up sick from. My pre pre op was the part I thought would never end! Pscyh evaluation, stress test which was abnormal so I had to have a cardiac cath, meet with the primary care. A zillion forms and a zillion repeats of my story and I am finally on my way. I am excited mostly. Nervous too! Woo hoo good luck to all! Chris. -

Christmas Gastric Sleeve Surgery Booked - December 21st! Anyone else in December?
get2chris replied to tenzinblue's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there Jess, My surgery is Dec. 15th. Would love support from others who are at the same stage. I think that will help some and of course advice from those that have been down the road ahead of us. I'm also female, weight in at 247...can't believe I'd ever hit that high number and I can't wait to see the scale numbers go down and to feel better. I figured my deductible and out of pocket cost have almost been met so why not do it now. My husband will be off for the holidays and I get the chance to have 4 weeks off work to recover and get myself together. Hoping to feel well enough not to stress over the holidays and I can't even think of anything I'd even miss eating right now. Good luck! Chris.
