I spent 1 night/24hr for observation. It was the hospital's policy, not the surgeon. I do know of some that have not had to spend the night at all. I'm in the US, so I'm not sure if it's different. Also, I had to do a 14 day High Protein 'Liver Shrink' diet before the surgery.

Hey y'all! I haven't been on much... 5 days post op & finally starting to feel normal! Things are going petty well for me! Hope y'all are all doing great!

Just checking in -- only 5 days to go for me!! Ugh.. I can't wait to get over the recovery & on with ME!

I'm a 34 yo mother of 3 (9,12,14). I had the sleeve done on 12/30/14 so I am almost 5 weeks out. As of this morning I am down 21 lbs and feeling great. The weight is coming off a little slower than I expected but as long as the scales are moving down I am happy. The first week postop was rough for me. I had a lot of pain and also my dad passed away 3 days after my surgery. As of now I'm felling better than I have in years. It is a huge adjustment for my kids. But they are adapting. It's been better for my entire family.
Sorry to hear about your father's passing. But congrats on the success!!!!

Any one in their early 30s? I'm looking for a good group of people that chat with. I can't relate to older folks having surgery, as I really think the recovery & life struggles will be different because of age. I'm a 31 yr old mom of 2(5 & 7), live around Dallas & work full-time. My surgery is on Feb 9th. Just started pre-op liver shrink diet on Monday... isn't as bad as I imagined!! I also quit smoking, talk about a complete change in habits!! I look forward to going through this journey with all of y'all!

Sorry, I just noticed this -- YES! Started it on Monday.. isn't as bad as I thought it would be! Sorry you're having second thoughts. Just think of all the positives that are going to come from this procedure!! Failure is my biggest fear, but you just have to follow the rules! We can do this, together!!!!

I'm a 9ther as well -- I'm doing pretty good, back at work today. I've had the hicups a few times & those hurt pretty bad -- but other than that, things are going good for me too!!! You're doing awesome, keep up the great work!!
