    Do I Need a Fill?

My doc had me wait a month before my first fill...after the wait period, I would recommend it for sure.....

    Should I be concered ..

This does not sound like heartburn...sounds like a little bit of getting "stuck"...chew your food really well and take super small bites.

    Should I be concered ..

it is very common to have heartburn with the lapband. I have it and have had since about 8 months after banding,...but its getting better as I get my band loosened--as I get closer to my goal weight

To diet or not to diet?

I think to be successful with the lapband, you really need to diet to some extent. The lapband helps...but your brain needs to do a lot of work too....
  5. MY fills don't hurt at all...and my doc doesn't use numbing meds either...

Band Genius app for iPhone and iPod

I agree about the icon with the band around the stomach..I would prefer a different icon for privacy.
  7. I am 5'2...my surgeon said 130 would be great. I am about 140 right now...everyone says I look perfect. I would like to get to 136 (before plastic surgery) just so that I can say I am in a normal BMI. Then after plastic surgery, I hope to be 129 or so...we shall see I guess....

    Does anyone feel deprived...

I do feel cravings from time to time, but I am so happy with my results that I choose to just look at the positive side of things. Plus I love how the lapband works...in the beginning I could eat everything I could eat before surgery...then with each fill I could eat less and less....it was a really great experience for me overall

    Can't hold down any fluid

Call your surgeon ASAP....you should be able to hold down fluid especially since you just had surgery.
  10. I personally would get the fill...it will speed up your weight loss..and for me ...that really motivated me and helped me to make better food choices. Now that I am closer to goal , I am looser....but it is really up to you. Good luck in your decision.
  11. I just buy a can of fat free refried beans (mexican aisle in the grocery store). I microwave, add cheese, and enchilada sauce (or salsa). Sometimes I eat with light sour cream ....very good and easy!!

    Can YOU feel your band?

    Nope....never felt it....

Stop Smoking Pre and Post Op....

What about trying Chantix? Your Dr can prescribe it...if you are struggling....maybe it can help.

Reaching Goal - Reducing the Fill?

I am wondering the same thing as I get closer and closer to goal....I have loosened up a bit, but it is so much harder now to lose these 5-7 lbs. I am convinced that I will be able to maintain with a looser band.

    Breat Size

My breast size also didn't go down, but my band size did. I went from a 48DDD to a 32 F. Very weird. My boobs are a bit saggy and I prob will get a lift at some point.

    Your opinion please!

I doubt it is stretched...probably just need a fill as the others have said.

    Coping

Prayers go out to him. How terrible. I would try seeing a therapist to gain control of your emotional eating. Emotional eating does not go away because you get the lapband. I have been seeing a therapist since 6 months before my surgery and it has helped a lot.

    Nausea

PBing is a productive burp----when food comes up. I have personally never been nauseous after a fill. SOmetimes I will get a pain if something is stuck. I would call your surgeon just to be on the safe side.
  19. It took me about 6 months and 5 fills to feel restriction....Good luck!!

I am in love.... with my band!

I love my band too!!! It has not been easy, that is for sure! I think most of the reason I have been so successful is because of my positive attitude. I am really grateful for my band!!
  21. Honestly, since you probably have little to no restriction, you can eat most anything you want...but of course, you SHOULD try to stick to a diet. I did it the old fashioned way---good old calorie counting, and following the rules of the band--eating protein first, then veggies,e tc. It is difficult but often in the beginning--before you have resriction, you have to do most of the dieting work on your own!! It gets easier as you get more restriction, but even then you have to really watch what you eat. For example, I could easily eat a pint of Ben and Jerrys!! But if I did that everyday, I would never lose weight....

    Good store bought chicken tenders?

I like the perdue breaded chicken patties...I find them in the refridegerated sections with chicken strips etc. I then put them in the freezer, and straight into the oven at 400 for like 10 mins. Then chop it and put it on salad. I think it is like 160 cals for one pattie...
  23. I was banded at NYU ---great experience!! Good luck to you :sifone:
