  1. I do measure everything, but I don't always eat all of it. I eat slow and when I start to feel full I stop. I look at the measurement as a maximum, not as a challenge! Besides, my doggy loves it when I leave her a couple bites!
  2. I completely understand how you feel, but the advertising will never go away. It's all about the money! It is best to learn to ignore all of it and do what is best for you. Best of luck on the process!
  3. You definitely cannot argue with results like that. Congrats!
  4. My nutritionist told me that plant based proteins are okay, but many are not complete proteins so should be supplemented whenever possible with meat proteins and whey isolate.
  5. 1/4 cup is 2 ounces. That is probably about right. Some people may be a little higher by 5 weeks, but everyone is different. No need to push it!
  6. Thin hot Cereal, (Cream of Wheat), Protein shakes. Hang in there. It gets better. You have got this!
  7. +1 on the abdominal binder. It makes a huge difference in how you feel!
  8. That's a great story. Congrats on your success! Now you have to get back to the basics that got you to where you are. You already know you can do it, so do it! You have got this!
  9. Dehydration can also cause pains in the side. If they persist, it is best to contact the doc.
  10. My doctor recommends taking it for 3 months post-op. I already bought a 3 month supply, so I intend to do it. I will be interested to see how I react when I stop. I never had an issue with acid reflux before surgery.
  11. Awesome! I have my 2 week post-op appointment today, and should be moving to pureed phase as well. I am really looking forward to it!
  12. Sounds like you are doing great so far! Congrats, and thank you for sharing!
  13. Congrats! 60 pounds in 4 months is great! Don't worry about about how fast it is happening, the important thing is that you are doing it! Everyone is different. Just focus on you!
  14. @@minniepearl1986 - Good luck getting the imaging done today! I'm hoping this is figured out and you feel better very soon!
  15. That does happen at times. When it does, you can right click on the notification icon and select "open in new tab" or something similar, depending on your browser. No worries!
  16. Welcome! There is a lot of good information and lots of helpful people here!
  17. What you are feeling is absolutely normal. I would be more worried if you weren't somewhat nervous. This is a huge life change you are undertaking. The process isn't always easy. Surgery isn't a miracle cure for obesity. But, if you commit to do what you need to do, it is a very effective tool. You are among friends here. We all understand the challenges. Come here for support and keep up the good work! You can do this!
  18. Your body is undergoing some MAJOR changes. Hang in there. It will get better!
  19. The shakes will definitely help. And pureed food is in the near future. Hang in there. You got this!
  20. My surgeon does nicotine testing for everyone as part of pre-op labs. So no e-cigs, gum, patches etc. I don't know if that is a common practice.
  21. Congrats! Glad to hear everything went well!
  22. I could definitely tell a difference. There was actually an indentation for a week or so after surgery. It feels more normal every day.
  23. I stop at the first feeling of being slightly full. I always feel fuller after I stop, so I don't want to push it. The post-op feeling of too full is much more uncomfortable than it used to be!
