  1. I definitely notice, but more than how much, I notice how fast people eat. Watching people polish off a huge dinner before I can get in my 2 ounces, (and knowing I used to regularly do the same thing) amazes me!
  2. Same here. High Protein low carb from the beginning. I'm satisfied with what I eat now, so no need to add in something that is not going to help.
  3. Awesome! Keep up the great work!
  4. There is really nothing to worry about, especially if you are still losing inches. You are losing fat and gaining muscle. Just do what you are supposed to do and it will happen!
  5. Congrats brother! I knew this would work out for you! It's going to happen fast!
  6. Chewable Gas-X was my constant companion for a couple weeks post-op. It helps a lot!
  7. Looking good! Glad to hear everything is going well. Keep it up!
  8. I had read that stuff about caffeine a while ago, long before surgery was even on the radar. However, I just figured I would follow the doctors advice so I could blame it on him if it didn't work!
  9. Excellent. Keep up the positive attitude!
  10. They just used tape on me. Worked great!
  11. Wow! Amazing transformation! Congrats on your success!
  12. Congrats! That is amazing progress! Keep it up!
  13. It is also a diuretic. It can lead to dehydration.
  14. Good luck! I suppose it is too late for this advice now, but I weaned myself off of caffeine for a couple months prior to surgery to avoid this. Next time you'll know!
  15. I don't know why, those are just the rules I was given. I was also told no fruit juice or sports drinks, and Protein shakes don't count as liquid. Different doctors, different rules!
  16. HEY! SMILE! Sorry I don't have a story. I just figured I would try to start with something positive!
  17. The rules from my nutritionist are that any non carbonated, non caffeinated, non alcoholic and non caloric beverage counts toward your total. That basically leaves decaffeinated coffee and tea, herbal tea, Crystal Light (or equivalent), and Water.
  18. This is ultimately a question for your nutritionist. However, looking at the nutrition info, it doesn't look too good. Per serving, 15 grams of Protein, 16 grams of sugar and 21 grams of carbs. My nutritionist recommends over 20 grams of protein and less than 10 carbs. I mostly use Premier Protein, which has 30 grams of protein and 5 carbs per serving. But like I said, ask your nutritionist.
  19. Congrats on reaching that point. It has to be a great feeling! I really think that how long the feeling lasts is up to you. As long as you eat like you should and don't give in to cravings and stretch out your sleeve, it should last a long time. As for the slow weight loss, don't lose hope and don't give up! Everyone goes through the slow phases. Best of luck and keep it up!
  20. French kiss prime rib? I'm in!
  21. I believe elongated refers to the length of your stomach, not the width. Your pre-op diet would have shrunk the width, not the length.
  22. If you make it 6 months you may not be craving it anymore! Then there is no point in starting again!
  23. My surgeon recommends giving it up forever, however it is mandatory for a year. The reason being that the gas, (carbonation) tends to stretch your new stomach.
  24. Sounds good. I may have to try this. I have a bunch of vanilla Premier Protein shakes that I can't stand to drink without some help!
  25. You didn't give much info about your current eating and exercise routine, but I would suggest going back to basics. More Protein, fewer carbs, and kick up the exercise a little. Even an extra 10 minutes a day will add up. And of course remember that everyone is different. Some lose weight faster than others. The fact that you are down 71 pounds in less than 8 months is fantastic! Just keep it up!
