  1. I LOVE this site. It has really helped with my tri training.
  2. I've heard good things about the Nike+band. Also I love tech toys, it keeps me interested. Maybe I will get one as a reward for finishing the Tri.
  3. Jonathan did you notice you have some competition for the century mark? Rhonda is coming up on you fast.
  4. So I got a new scale. A nice digital one with big numbers. Small problem. The weight it displays is a bit higher then my old scale. About 4lbs. I'm going to leave my ticker where it is and wait it out until I drop below its current level. I see my Dr today. I don't know if I will get another fill. I'm losing fine and most days I reach the point of satiety. I would have canceled the appointment but I want to touch base with the Dr.. Plus I'm fearful that next week I will lose this restriction and start feeling hungry and then not be able to see the Dr for 6 weeks. So Jonathan if you were going to splurge on chocolate what would you get? I can resist most chocolates but I enjoy a good bit of dark/bittersweet chocolate. Lately its been Scharffen Berger. Im lovin the Roasted Cacao Nibs.
  5. Chris that was a triumph. Working through the mental challenges of the swim and it's great that you didn't let the leg get the better of you. Sounds like a competitive athlete to me. Yes ice, ice, ice. And stretch, stretch, stretch. For me it was a rest day. I didn't know how hard I was working my body. I took a two hour nap today. Im surprised that every part of my feels good. No muscle aches. Which mean no excuses. Happy training to all!!
  6. Christine Im with you on that. I even asked a friend if she had noticed I was losing weight. She said she thought I was looking healthy but she always thought I looked good. Either that is a lot of BS or a good friend. I think sometimes people who see you all the time kind of stop seeing you. If you know what I mean.
  7. Here's a pic. Notice the hole to the side and very little bevel at the tip. click pic to enlarge.
  8. Question for you C-2-5k; you have been commenting about speeds/pace of your runs but how far/miles are you running? Are we supposed to be running the full 5k each time? Or working up to it? Just wondering.
  9. I think it is time to post proof of this fact. With clothes on.
  10. I can hardly wait. I loved the way you wrote about the city and kind of made it a character in the story. I've spent time in Naples, where are you staying? True you will not be there in its best season but you will also not have to deal with the snowbirds either. I can't say you won't be tempted by some good eats. I've been to a few nice restaurants down there.
  11. Wow that is great! There are some rather freaky slides out there. More power to you for not only sliding down them but also the long wait in line with only your suit on. Hope to be there some day.

  13. Check the info on the song and see what the stop time is. If you know what it is supposed to be set it to that and maybe that will override whatever is happening.

I'm under a month until the Triathlon. On the bike Ive been averaging 6+miles daily. I need to up my runs over 3miles. I'm feeling good so far. No major muscle aches. Just my left shin being tight. I had some really good BBQ today. I'm glad I'm training enough that I can eat it and not feel guilty. Exercise is the key to weight loss people!

  16. sWay to run guys!! Chris what you said about losing focus- I worry about that for my Tri. When Im in the Water Im fine but by the time Im on the run I know I will be at the back of the pack and Im afraid I will get discouraged. Like I told my husband I can help the clean up efforts and collect the course markers on my way in. Im only half joking.
  17. some succeed because they are destined to most succeed because they are determined to
  18. I think you all hit on one of the key elements of being successful at weight loss, Keeping track of the "fuel gage". food and activity. I'm not sure why this didn't' click for me without the band. Better late then never.
  19. Sarah, That's great about sharing with you sister. Remember she too is going through some major changes. Respect and validate her thoughts and feelings and she will likely do the same for you. It's smart to get yourself ready and 'all your ducks in a row'. Don't forget protein drinks/powder. I really liked the Unjury brand of protein powder. (UNJURY Medical Quality Protein Supplement: High Protein Supplement Uses Whey Protein Isolate. Great tasting whey protein supplements!). Keeps your energy up and feeling full longer. You'll do great at the BBQ. Remember this is a lifestyle not a diet. You will always be able to have anything you want. Just remember moderation, preparation and portion. That means-not all the time, keep it low fat/calorie, smaller helpings. Happy Independence Day!! Amanda

I used to wax. When I filled out the skin more the surface was tighter/smoother. Then gained alot and didn't really wear stuff that showed the stuff I didn't want to shave(lower legs). Now I've lost some weight and I have loose skin. My question to the ladies that have lost some weight is: Does the loose skin hinder the waxing at all? Do you help the waxer out and pull it tight? Ya see with my weight loss has come some really loose skin. Any help??
  21. I downloaded the coach to 5k and had no problems.
  22. Sounds like you have a plan. Good Luck!!
  23. If you decide to let your family, or just a selected few know about the band really have a talk with them about how they can support you. Positive not negative words. Nonverbal support-staying with you while you recover. Most of the time we overestimate the negative response of our friends and family. But you know them best. But know this: it is important to have a good support system in place before you are banded. You will need them for your best success. Good luck with your journey. Amanda
  24. Jonathan- It sucks that when I bike 8 miles I only burn a little over 300 calories and you are burning thousands just walking around town. Men. My RMR is 1759. I burn 500+ daily working out. I need 2726 a day just being me. According to Daily plate I get 2500 per day to lose 2 lbs a week. Thats not right. It should be more like 1700-1900. I am consuming 1600. The pounds should be melting off!!!! Whatever. I can only guess that I am making more muscle while losing fat. Muscle weights more then fat so... I guess the trainer is correct, you gotta use the tape measure to see real progress. Even if it is slow. This CaloriesPerHour.com is a very helpful site.
