  1. Yea I have just once a week weigh in from the trainer and I'm not losing tummy wweight which is a bummer but I guess It will come off when it's suppose to. It is hard not to move after working out but I haven't used my muscles for so long there is not much that was going to prevent that.
  2. Don't weight yourself everyday. Just once and while and you need protein especially lean protein. When you are in-taking so lil the sugar and carbs could work against you and you don't even realize it. It will move and you will see progress again but SUPER important to get that protein and water in, Water taste bad drink anything sugar free and carbonation free, Good luck.
  3. Here is a weird question if anyone can answer. I have this shirt that I love and could wear when I was 270 and couldn't at my start weight of 310....well now i'm 258 and it still does not fit.....is it cause I'm losing weight everywhere but my stomach? SO annoying!
  4. I know isn't it nuts....? When I was this weight last and noticed I was like ew what it is going on i'm gross. Which is weird cause I allowed myself to still gain an extra 50lbs. Now I feel so much but and my clothes do feel larger I just want to look in the mirror and say wow I really can see the difference. I will be patient and not even think about it anymore!
  5. All I'm going to say is that I pre-make all my lunches not my dinners and breakfast foods and log everything. This way if I don't lose weight I'm the one held accountable for my mistakes. Its a lil time consuming at first but you then learn to do it so fast that you don't notice the whole 3 minutes it took you to do it. I will give you advice my Nut told me when I first whined about the food logging. If you have time to complain about it you have time to log it. Kinda makes sense. Good luck to you!
  6. I love when people find great articles like this to share. Thank you!
  7. I didn't read what anyone else said but I think time to time we all kinda feel this sense of sadness or depression. Its like a loss or break up. You broke up with your larger portions of food and loss the relationship you previously had with your stomach. I question myself every week. Its hard to go out to dinner and order the grilled fish or shrimp or boring chicken when everyone else is having something just yummy. Your way didn't work on controlling your eating and this is the way you have chosen to dig yourself out of that hole. I won't lie I go to a food addiction meeting every week. I'm addicted to food, if I wasn't then all those diets would of worked and surgery would of not happened. Its not to say you can't ever eat the things you had before, it is to say you will learn what comes first and how to control what you eat. The old saying is you no longer live to eat but eat to live. I hope you come to love your new life and the reclaiming of happiness as you continue along, Every day I question my choice and it takes some convincing at times but I know I did the right thing. I'm sure you will too. Spending you good vibes and wishing you the best of luck!
  8. You aren't going to stretch your sleeve with this one minor slip. I think you should just be really diligent and stick to your allowed foods as close as possible. It is not the stretching you should be so concerned with but the fact you might be eating foods that can affect your sleeve. If you are having some snack attack issues call your nut and see what is recommended for you within your phase and in your caloric intake. wish you the best!
  9. This is the reason I can't eat much meats yet. If it is anywhere near dry I feel like I have a brick in my stomach and it is sitting in my throat. I def think walking helps but I have actually naturally thrown up cause of the feeling. Chew chew chew sometimes til it is mush helps. Glad it passed cause it is the worst feeling EVER!
  10. Welcome to the site. I found that this is the best support I have ever had and without it I don't think I would be as successful, Great weight loss so far and I'm sure you will really enjoy your new life and journey! Wishing you tons of luck!
  11. Ugh I can't wait til I'm in the onederland numbers. I still have so far to go and it is taking a long time mentally but in reality I know it is not bad at all. I started going to the gym this week for 90 mins of cardio and I do 50 mins of strength training with my trainer. I have manage to burn off more then what I eat every day which I think pushed me over my stall. THANK GOODNESS....I really don't seem to mentally handle the stalls very well. I know I should be patient cause I tell others to but man it is really annoying. I did take my monthly pics and I can not see the different but I def can feel the difference. I'm down three pant sizes and I can fit into old clothes but in the pic I just can not see a difference. I think that will be the best NSV for me when I can really see a difference. I'm super proud of everyone on this thread. I think we are all doing so well. A year ago I did not think I would ever see this weight again and I'm glad I finally decided to take my life back and break up with my addiction to food, Well, I'll always be addicted but now I have learned how to fight it!
  12. SO funny you just posted this topic cause I was just saying that I was crazy tired all the time. I went and had bloodwork done cause I was getting paranoid and everything is fine. My doctor suggested that since we are eating so lil and burning off the normal amount it is just natural for us to get this way. When our caloric intake gets a lil higher the fatigue should wear off and life should get back to normal. I do feel like I'm in my first trimester of pregnancy with all this sleepiness! Good luck to everyone!
  13. I don't think most people have a problem with popcorn as long as it is chewed really well I think my only concern is that it is considered a slider food to most surgeons and nuts. It breaks down in the mouth and has lil to no value caloric or nutrition wise. Hey we have to treat ourselves once in a while I say but that's me!
  14. I personally can't have too much fruit or juice of any kind cause I'm diabetic but you would have to look into your nut for that. I hear a lot of people are having juice and oranges and apples. I think it just has to be keep in the healthy range of sugar. I also found that veggie straws are a good way to cut the salt craving without going nuts. there are so many bariatric recipe site on the web. I got a lot of ideas from there and also just reading packages. I don't bring what I can't eat into my house and what my kids eat i have them locked up and don't have the key and don't know where it is!
  15. Well all I can say is that I'll follow my trainer and nut cause I even see a lot of people in the gym drinking Protein WHILE they are working out and they have lean muscles and very letting body fat they must be doing something wrong when I was doing things oh so wrong for a long time!
  16. from what my nut says we "patients" should stay off those types of snacks for sometime. You have to speak to them about that. I feel like there are so many different options for snacks then that. Slices of deli meat, cheese, you are far enough out to have cut veggies and fruit and peanut butter. Protein bars the list goes on and on. I would not beat yourself up for the slips. You are craving salt and that is normal where some people probably were craving sweets. You should try maybe pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds, pistachios, almonds, and even most nuts but don't go nuts on them. Eat some yogurt with fruit. The point is try to stay away from the standard "junk food". Its hard I know but you can do it. Don't want to ruin progress now when you are doing so GREAT! I wish you luck!
  17. first week don't expect a 20lbs drop. You will be tired and not hungry and feeling a lil bit of pain. You will feel like you want to get up and get motivated but this is major surgery and you will not be able to run a marathon or just on the treadmill. I recommend listening not only to your doctor and take their advice but listen to your body and try to understand that it is going to go through quite some change. Walk as much as possible, sip your water and get in as much protein as you can. You will not meet the standards of a ton of water or protein but do what you can. I wish you luck and hope your journey is a great one!
  18. My nut and my trainer have told me to have a snack an hr before and a meal an hr after. So I eat and egg or some deli meat or if I can stomach it a shake. Then after I eat a whole meal, normally fish or vegan burgers since I can't hold most meats down. It will help with that shaky light headed low sugar level feeling. We are eating so little and burning so much that it happens. Good luck. I was there myself last week!
  19. my cousin is a patient of Dr. Now. They have to go to classes and some other nut instruction classes. You just don't see it cause you can only fit so much in an hr or rather 44 min show. You want to see the results not just that stuff. My cousin was 450 lbs and after surgery is currently 195 lbs. Lets just admit that if you are of such a high weight you have some serious food addiction and the Dr. can only do so much. he is not lenient on the surgery requirements but the post op you don't want to walk or watch your food intake then that is on you. He gives you the tools along with the nut you have to work it. I love that show but sometimes it makes me crazy.
  20. post op my first drinks came with a straw and I'm currently drinking through one as I type. I'm not having any problem with taking in any air. Good luck!
  21. I was told 6 months for hard alcohol but could maybe handle a really small glass of wine here and there. Haven't tried anything yet though.
  22. When I talked to my doc, nut and pcp they said it was the best option for me and seem to be the safest route lately when it comes to certain medical conditions. Good luck with your choice. I wanted RNY but was recommended for sleeve since I was already anemic and have other medical issue that would have been interrupted by the lack of Vitamins and nutrients if I did not properly handle my Vitamin intake.
  23. I'm a nibbler too which is why I have premade bento boxes ready for me when I cook for them. It is hard with kids not being an eating schedule. All I guess we can do is have our own lil snacks handy for those times. I have a slice of cheese or a roll of deli meat or a hard boiled egg no whites cut up! Good luck and I love when people notice that I have lost weight even if it just my family.
  24. OUCH is all I can say today. It is really weird how we truly do not use every part of our body daily. I have been going to the gym-3-4 times a week mostly doing aerobic to get my heart rate up and try to burn some fat. So last night I thought I have been lightly going the weights and my trainer really hit me hard with those workouts last night. I'm a hurting today, it is a good pain but geez crazy to think that I have not used those muscles on that level in I don't know how long. I was down two lbs but this morning I woke up again up one so bleh forget it. I'm just going to throw that scale out the window and weigh in once a month. It is driving me nuts!
  25. Well you def should stay away from the fried food that too is my weakness. It just taste so good. So I had to do some real soul searching when I got this weight loss so I broke up with food and decided that I wanted a better life. I join a food addiction group cause lets face it I did not gain my weight not enjoy the yummy stuff and also took a cooking class, I can cook but I needed to learn how to make low carb high Protein foods. So funny thing is I can't eat hardly any meat but I manage to get in what I can and someday I will be able to and will have those tools to do so. Be accountable again for your food. Log EVERYTHING, and when I say that I really mean it. EVERYTHING even that chip you snuck in or that one mini container of fries. You will see where you need to adjust your eating habits. Get a bariatric cook book or def a low carb one. Don't get all your protein for shakes or bars actual food is not only healthier but more filling which will help with the food hunger. I also got a trainer cause I do not know how to work out being so heavy and everything hurts to the point I def want to lay in bed and cry some days. I wish you luck and I'm here for you if you need the support!
