  1. I was sleeved on 11/05. All went well here. Except for eating too fast sometimes, no vomiting. Just having some troubles getting all my fluids in. I try but I am short by the end of my day. Something to work on.
  2. 19 pounds since surgery, I should say.
  3. Hello there! Nov05 here for me. Tomorrow will be 5 weeks post op for me and 19 pounds down. Working on soft foods until mid-January. I have never heard of Protein ice. I know during my liquids phase, I really had to ignore my head hunger. It would not shut up!
  4. Agree with both posters above me! Focus on healing and take in what you can for both clear fluids and Protein. I'm at 5 weeks post-op and still struggling to get all my fluids in. I don't know why; never had a problem before with drinking Water. I set a mini goal for myself every day. So far, so good. Soon I will be up to 60 oz of fluids a day.
  5. I had that concern too and spoke to my surgeon about it at my first f/u appointment. He told me not to worry about it. To take in what I could for the next 2 weeks and just heal. I was stressed about it myself. Put in a solid effort to try but if you can't, it's okay.

    Almost 1 week post op

You can totally tell too! Congratulations!
  7. I am glad my surgeon put me on a 1000 calorie a day diet instead of total liquids for 2 weeks! I don't think having a bit of Protein with veggies once a day is going to hurt you. You just need to remember that it isn't a free for all and then stick in chips, Cookies, candy, ice cream.....

    WOOT!! Congratulations!!!

Gained a pound and a half:(((

I say don't sweat it.... easier said than done, I know. Could be more sodium popped in somewhere and your body is retaining. Excess fluids. Depending on your age... your "friend" is on her way. Ignore it if you can for a few days and see what happens. Check yourself again next week.
  10. I thought the same thing! Turns out, I do have it. I stop breathing 15 times an hour. 27 times an hour in a very deep sleep.
  11. Nah. I had to do the sleep study too (and got sleeved on 11/5). Found out I have mild (borderline moderate) sleep apnea. Got my machine and have been sleeping with it on. hard to get use to at first but now I'm good. Only thing I had to do was bring my mask with me to the hospital for my surgery to use for my 2 nights. No complications towards my surgery. I think he's just blowing smoke. I think you're all good. Good luck!
  12. @@tfarr - the program I'm following/followed separates both. Water/clear liquids is one category and "full" liquids/protein shakes are another. and I had to try to get 40 oz of clear and 40 oz of full or Protein liquids a day. Never made that goal but I tried! Every program is different. I've learned that off these boards.
  13. Fantastic list! Printing also and highlighting my favorite ideas. Thanks!!
  14. I slept 2 days once I was home. I was wiped out. And once I was back on my feet, my body felt like it was recovering from the flu. Body aches and all. By day 5, I felt totally like myself again. You'll get there.

Ready to eat the FURNITURE! @_@

My doctor told me 1000 calories a day instead of total liquid diet for my pre-op. I was grateful for that! I don't think I could have done 14 days on just liquids. I was giving myself daily pep talks until I heard the 1000 calories. So happy. I did okay with me pre-op diet and tomorrow marks my 1 month post-op.

    November 4, 2014 Surgery

I was sleeved on the 5th of November. Doing great here too! Started week 2 (of 8) of soft foods. Hanging in there. Nothing has really bothered me or my sleeve; unless I've eaten way too fast or my bites were too big. I'm down 18 pounds since surgery and 30 pounds since my highest weight at the start of my journey in March. I'm hoping for another 10-12 pounds by Christmas but if it doesn't happen, I won't cry about it. Every little bit counts and I'm counting my blessings. Only issue I'm having is I'm getting a bit dehydrated. Trying to keep my Water going but with the timeframe of not drinking before/during/after eating... it's screwing up my water consumption. I'm working on that though. OH! And this. I was a huge water drinker for years. I enjoyed a lovely ice cold glass of water before surgery. Now? I don't like plain water. I need Crystal Light in it. I'm working through that too. I don't want to get dependant on water flavoring. I want to enjoy an ice cold, clear glass of water again.
  17. I'm looking at getting some Protein powders to have on hand when I start making my smoothies again. I need to start introducing them to my diet again. I need the fiber! Since "UnJury" is in my face on BariatricPal.... wondering what it tastes like. Does it have a medicinal aftertaste? I'm going to order a few of the single servings to try but figured I would ask beforehand. Anyone have any opinions on the unjury protein powders, let me know! Thanks!!
  18. @@CheleLynn45 - that's my plan with the chocolate powder. I bought some PB2 and I want to make a chocolate/PB "shake".
  19. @@Miss Mac - I was going to go that route and I didn't. Maybe I'll go get some Benefiber or something too. Thanks for that reminder!
  20. @Rocky1Understood and I've tried a few powders that I just didn't like. Just looking for some feedback is all. I'm sure one person's "DELICIOUS!" will be another person's "GROSS!".
  21. @@Ginger Snaps @Bufflehead @BeagleLover - Thank you! thank you! I will order some single servings of the chocolate and vanilla this afternoon. I also want to try the strawberry Sorbet one to put in my lemonade. I appreciate the feedback!
  22. Thanks for sharing your story thus far. Sounds like quite a journey. I will officially be 1 month post op on Wednesday this week. Just a novice but still excited for my own journey.

    Driving after wls

I drove a week after my surgery and had some pain only because I have a sedan and trying to get in and out was difficult. I had no issues stepping up in my husband's truck. Just another thing to keep in mind. I was also super exhausted after my surgery. I had surgery on a Wednesday and released on Friday. I was still wiped out by Sunday.
