I lost. 70 pounds in college on a low fat diet and my hair fell out like crazy. It's common with significant weight loss, not just surgery.

Yes you request to join and someone approves you.

I was not allowed mashed potatoes or applesauce until 2 weeks out. Stick with what your doc tells you.

No, it's a closed group. Your friends won't see it. I joined it and I haven't told many people either.

I'm going to make these cauliflower mashed potatoes. Something that I don't have to feel guilty about eating! I'll be 3 weeks post -op on Thanksgiving so I can have soft foods.

I pour a Premier Protein pre- made shake into a Blender Bottle and add a scoop of GNC whey powder. Add crushed ice and shake and I never have any clumps. 50 grams of Protein (I only drink half of it in the morning, about 6 oz, and the other half in the afternoon). And you can definitely add PB2 and other flavors to the premier Protein shakes...just pour them in a Blender Bottle and mix.
I don't like blending my shakes in a magic bullet or blender because it makes them frothy, which I hate.

Welcome and good luck in your journey!!

My incisions never hurt. A lot of muscle pain in my stomach for a couple of days. The worst part for me was the nausea and constant dry heaving for more than 24 hours straight. But from what I read on here that doesn't seem that common.

It is tied to your total calorie goal so just keep playing with the numbers until they look right.
-
I had to play with mine for a while, too. I think I ended up with 20% carbs, 50% Protein, 30% fat.

Great job! Very noticeable difference in just one month!

I like syntax matrix (PB cookie, vanilla, choc, mint cookie & vanilla) I mix one scoop with 8-16oz Water or 1% milk. Same with BSN Styntha-6 (Moccacino is my favorite!) I also like syntax nectar in Iced Tea and Roadside Lemonade (mix with 10oz water).
I also LOVE Quest Bars for Protein.
I get all of my Protein at GNC, The Vitamin Shoppe or on Amazon ????
I weighed 271 on the day of surgery. I am now 139 almost a year later.
I would love to try that PB Cookie flavor, but it's not whey Protein Isolate, which the NUT at the hospital told me is the only kind I should have. You seem knowledgable....I assume this is still a good protein??

I never got an answer to my earlier post but if we can get in late I would like to also.

I did not read others' comments b/c I wanted to be real. You are not far out at all. I am 6 months out and I do have regrets. There are those that everything is spectacular and then there are others. I simply cannot eat much at all and it is obvious. I am tall and frankly, too thin. I did have my Vitamin levels checked and all is fine there. My problem is that when I eat I experience pain in my stomach. I know I will have to address this. For the time being, I am enjoying my pre-made plans and I will deal with this later.
I never had any desire to be skinny; as I was never really obese. More than that, socially it's obvious. I have literally wrapped food in napkins to avoid comments.
For those who date, I recommend tapas restaurants.
Out of curiosity, why did you have this surgery if you were never obese?

My doctor wanted me to take 2 weeks off but I couldn't, so I returned to work from home on day 5 and in the office on day 6. My energy was a little low but I survived.
