  1. It's very early for you and at 5 days post op, that pretty normal in my opinion. You will slowlybuild up to all your Protein, and Fluid requirements. My surgeons office really drilled into my head to sip, sip, sip all day long. Dehydration will land you back in the hospital. Each day, you will be able to drink more and get more protein in, etc. It is a process for sure. I felt like I had a full time job in the beginning. I am 6 weeks post op and I finally have a good systemdown for myself which makes life seem normal.

  2. Has anyone looked into or used the PatchMD Vitamins? Check out their website, looks interesting.

I have been using PATCHMD since 2 weeks post op. So, roughly a month or so. I have labs drawn mid October and I am very anxious to see if they are absorbing and providing the proper supplements. They are super convenient and 40% off when you use the coupon code PMD40. I will post once I have labs drawn.

I only take Iron pill, omeprazole & Biotin orally now.

  3. I forgot to take my multivitamin after breakfast this morning so I decided to take it right now. YEAH RIGHT. Immediately felt like I was going to throw up....my mouth started to Water (like it always does right before I'm going to vomit)....but I sat down, closed my eyes, and WILLED myself to not throw up. I'm at work, so it would be rather embarrassing! After about 5 minutes it passed. I know the NUT said to take the Vitamins with meals...I guess he really meant it! I'm not taking a chance like that again. I haven't had that feeling since the first week of surgery and I am not trying to repeat it ever again.

Hope all the 8/17 sleevers and other August sleevers are doing well! I see the NUT again for my 6 week check up on Monday. So far I am pleased as punch with my progress.

Hi Margie !! I'm an 8/17 sleever too ! I use PatchMD Patches you stick on your skin any were you choose. I use B12, Calcium with VitD & a multi. It's so convenient. I only take my Omeprazole and Iron orally. So convenient and reasonably priced.

(Google it). I have my labs done mid October and I am hoping they are good.

  4. Well let me know. My situation is a little more hectic. My best friend is getting married on 10/24 and surgery is 10/19 so I'm sure I should take a shake or something with me. Maybe she'll have a Soup on the menu but I don't want to not go. I honestly don't know what to do. Any advice

Soup and a shake or two sound like a good plan. You will do just fine ????

  5. I'm sure they will have things like shrimp cocktail and assorted cheeses . Most likely, there will be a beef, chicken or fish entree. Best bet is to just come right out and ask her what she is serving . Brides love to discuss all the details of their wedding. You can shove a single tuna packet in your purse just incase. As far as the champagne goes, I don't have an answer for that. Have fun !!

  6. I'm 5 weeks out and I do 2 Protein Shakes per day. It's the only way I can get my required grams each day. I just can't eat enough regular food to meet my goals. I have PS for bfast and pureed chicken usually for lunch (I melt LF cheese on it) and 2oz of fish at dinner. I do my 2nd Protein Shake an 1 1/2 after dinner. I can't fit veggies or fruits at this point. Iam trying to balance it all out but really just concerned with fluids and Protein at this point. I'll get there soon enough.

  7. I broke out in a rash on my neck and both sides of my torso. One large rash and one small on torso and small patch on neck. I also broke on with pimples !! Gross things are going on !! I did go to my PCP yesterday and he ruled out shingles & thinks it's irritation of some sort. He prescribed at topical lotion and I see him again on Thursday to follow up. Anyone else have odd skin issues ?
