I have been overweight since high school but was lucky enough to not have a fuller face & neck. At age 40 that all changed. I quit smoking and added 60 lbs on an already obese body. My face, chin and neck became huge. It bothered me more than my big ole stomach. It has slimmed down quite a bit and I am thrilled ????
I am gonna kiss the sky as much as I can !! LOL

These are great ! Now I need to find a name for my sleeve. Hmmmm ...

Very sharp haircut !!

That stinks !! I just ordered for the 3rd time last week. I hope they didn't remove the offer ????Ughhhh! I searched for a coupon code but none worked. thanks so much!
-
They always offer 40% off by using the coupon code PMD40 ... Next order you will get 40% off ????I just bought the multi and the B 12 today. Had never even heard of them until this post. They're kinda pricey - $40 for 1 month supply of both plus tax and shipping but for now ( 8 days out of surgery) it beats gagging on chewables!
Thanks!

How's it going ? Haven't seen you on the forum for awhile ...Thanks for the update!

Awww ... Don't apologize ... We are all here to help each other and I think you should post as much as you want. It will be good therapy for you ????

I was sleeved the same day !! ????My surgery was 8/17 and it started thinning a few weeks ago. I notice it in front but I've adjusted how I style my hair. I will take the thinning hair any day over being 295lbs! Plus it will grow back
I haven't lost any hair yet ... Mine is so thin as it is ... Oh well what are gonna do ...

That's terrible and I sure hope you find some relief. I also take 40mg of omeprazole and it does the trick.

I have a drink maybe once a year if that, so it's never been an issue for me. I am lucky there. I also gave up soda 9 months preop. I only do Decaf tea now because coffee makes me nauseous (used to love it). You will be surprised what you think you can't live without really isn't that important anymore.

You look fabulous !! Congrats !!

Well said Babbs ! ????????????????????????I think people project how they feel, and most people I see after losing weight look so much healthier and happier, therefore looking younger and more vibrant.
Besides, so what if it does make someone look older? Is vanity more important than our health? I'd rather have a few more lines in my face now than be obese and unhealthy. The trade off is worth it for me!

Thanks everyone !! My brain gets mushy now & then ☹

Very little. I was focused on walking and fluids in the very beginning. In time, you will reach your Protein goal. It is a full time job getting it all down at first. I'm 9 weeks post op and my new normal is awesome !! Good luck ????

It does give many portions sizes/choices, just none that would apply to a WLS patient. I cannot possibly eat a cup or 1/2 cup of certain foods. I would love the option to pick and choose each portion size is all. Oh well ????If you click on the portion size it usually gives you multiple portion sizes (cups, oz, grams etc).
-
I am having a difficult time finding the proper portion sizes to add to my fitness pal food diary. It does not allow me for most foods to add a tsp or tbsp or 1/4 cup etc... I just can't get accurate info. It just isn't set up for WLS patients ? We eat so little and in my opinion, it should begin at a tsp. Or maybe I'm just a big dummy and can't figure it out ?? Haha

I do not take any additional calcium but I do take iron, Biotin, fish oil with Omega 3 & Vitamin D orally. My Vitamin D & iron were both low prior to surgery. I have my labs done again in December so I think that will be the true test.If anyone else has been using them and has had labs done, I would be interested in hearing the results as I am considering these - especially when travelling.
If you use them, do you still take Calcium supplements on top of them, or just have the calcium that is in them?
What about Iron (since they mix calcium and Iron in one patch)?
Has anyone's NUT said anything about them? I asked mine and she just said 'Try them and we'll check your labs' as only one other person at my surgeon's office has asked about them.
For now, I'm still stocked on Celebrate capsules for another couple of months and calcium chews for about 6, but might start using the Patches when I travel or when I run out of the other if they prove convenient and reliable...I just really wonder especially about the calcium since it's hard to tell a deficiency until it's too late since your body will just pull from your bones.

HW: 290+

My surgery is scheduled for 11/3 in Tijuana with Dr. alejandro lopez.
Today I am starting the pre-op diet. I went to Sam's Club yesterday and stocked up on Premier Protein (chocolate, vanilla and strawberry), lettuce, cherry tomatoes and grilled mesquite chicken breasts.
My pre-op diet will be the following:
Snack: Activia Light yogurt
Lunch: Protein Shake
Dinner: salad with chicken breast
Snack: Additional Protein shake (if needed)
This menu has 825 calories, 21g fat, 40g carbs, 121g protein
I would like to lose 15-20 pounds over the 4 weeks before surgery.
I took my "before" pictures this morning in my bra and underwear. I had mixed feelings. I felt depressed and ashamed of my body but I also felt happy because I knew this is going to be my "before" which means I'm determined to do what I need to in order to reach my goal. If I need any inspiration during the next four weeks I plan on staring at those back rolls until I find the self control and determination I need.
You will do great and the pre op diet goes fast !! It is the very best decision I have ever made !!

I would have your BP monitored daily to see if that could be an issue. A good friend of mine, had the sleeve & kept passing out from her BP being too low.
I have been off my BP meds since 2 weeks post op and I monitor mine everyday. I hope you get some answers soon, that has to be scary & frustrating.
