    Chewable Vitamins

I just started using PatchMD. I use 3 patches. A multi, B12, and calcium with VitaminD. I have blood work next week so I will see how it goes. I'm will be adding iron next week, if she clears me to take oral meds because from what I read, you cannot crush iron ? The patches take a little of the stress off of taking so many supplements throughout the day.
  2. I have noticed weight loss in my face and neck area and as weird as this sounds, in my hips ????. I am 3 weeks post-op today.
  3. I am self pay and I do not want to risk complications or jeopardize my health in any way. I am following to a T.

Looking for a good smoothie maker

I use a ninja and then let my drinks chill in the fridge and the foam seems to settle after an hour or so. Since we aren't able to use a straw, the foam grosses me out ????

    Wound Dressings

My first steri strip came off today and my surgery was 8/17/15. The rest are close to falling off. I was so impressed with how well my incision looked. You can barely tell I even had surgery. ☺️

    Can i eat.....?

My surgeons gave office gave me a huge binder filled with so much information. Every single question I could think of was answered within this manual. I was still on full liquids first week out. I just started pureed foods Monday and I am 3 weeks post op ... I would call your surgeons office and ask.

  13. @@meowmers She sounds like a real piece of work !! Don't let her get to you. I know it's easier said than done. Heck, not one of my in laws even know I had surgery. Even though they live 5 minutes away, I just avoid them. They are rude and nosy like you BF's mom. HAHA
  14. Great thread ... I am only 2 weeks post op so only close friends and family know right now but I am sure all those comments above are coming ... UGH ..

    Before and After Pics

    Looking good girl !!!
  16. I used to LOVE my morning cup of coffee with splenda and 1/2 & 1/2 but once I started the pre op diet, I switched to decaf hot tea and have stuck with it ever since. Coffee just doesn't seem to appealing to me right now at 14 days post op. Maybe it will again some day ...
  17. @@tssiemer i would rather be thin than worry about "excess" skin concentrate on the good results during weight loss don't dwell/fret over bad side effects from WLS you are pre-op best wishes with surgery good luck kathy I love reading your replies @@proudgrammy !! My success story

    You look awesome !! Congrats
  20. I ordered the bariatric advantage multivitamins but as of now, I just can't handle them. Maybe later on down the road I can. I take 3 Flintstone's multi, 1 calcium chew with vitamin D, liquid B12 as of now and my NUT said I would be adding iron soon. I made a whole reminder schedule on mysmart phone and just keep a spare baggie of a few items in my purse incase I am out.
  21. I am 11 days post op and can barely manage a 1/4 of soup at a sitting. I do get two protein shakesin per day but it takes FOREVER to get them down. I am just strictly liquids at this point andadvance to purees on Monday. My NUT said to focus of fluids and walking for the first week and then start with getting as much protein shake in as I can. It takes time and that why each stage is several weeks. It allows your sleeve to adjust I guess ..

    Help! Bills

I am self pay too. It has been such a hardship. My hospital bill was $16,500 and my surgeon gave me a huge break and only charged me $1,250.00. But, between copays and all the bills pouring in from all my clearances and blood work are just stressing me out. When all is said and done, wepaid out over $20,000. It will motivate me to stay on track that's for sure. One day at time I guess.
  23. I went back in a week and felt fine. I wasn't tired or fatigued after the first few days. Biggest challenge for me was prepping everything I had to drag to work with me. There is so much to remember with meds, supplements & fluids ... That"s a full time job on its own ???? hahaha Good luck with whatever decision you make.
  24. I cooked tonight too & I really, really wanted to try a piece of chicken ????
