    Recovery time

I returned one week exactly after surgery but I am sitting at desk most of the time. I felt gas pains for 5-6 days but other that, it was a breeze. Good luck ????

Feel like I'm not getting enough

It's very early for you and at 5 days post op, that pretty normal in my opinion. You will slowlybuild up to all your protein, and fluid requirements. My surgeons office really drilled into my head to sip, sip, sip all day long. Dehydration will land you back in the hospital. Each day, you will be able to drink more and get more protein in, etc. It is a process for sure. I felt like I had a full time job in the beginning. I am 6 weeks post op and I finally have a good systemdown for myself which makes life seem normal.

    Best Vitamins

I have been using PATCHMD since 2 weeks post op. So, roughly a month or so. I have labs drawn mid October and I am very anxious to see if they are absorbing and providing the proper supplements. They are super convenient and 40% off when you use the coupon code PMD40. I will post once I have labs drawn.I only take iron pill, omeprazole & biotin orally now.
  4. I'm in the same boat ... My face & neck have slimmed down and my tops are big but same size pants and no one has really noticed weight loss ... ????

  7. Hi Margie !! I'm an 8/17 sleever too ! I use PatchMD Patches you stick on your skin any were you choose. I use B12, calcium with VitD & a multi. It's so convenient. I only take my Omeprazole and Iron orally. So convenient and reasonably priced. (Google it). I have my labs done mid October and I am hoping they are good.
  8. Thanks everyone !! I'm still riding high ????
  9. I have a small little cooler with a built in ice pack for when I'm on the run. I keep cheese & hard boiled eggs int it. I always seem to have a protein shake packed in their as well. I still can't eat enough protein so I do 2 shakes per day.

    My Doctor faked my surgery!

I had a great overall experience too. I was back to work a week later. I did however have to work all day at getting fluids and protein in the first few weeks. I plan out and prep all my food/protein drinks ahead of time and that makes things easier.

    Wedding on 10/10

I'm sure they will have things like shrimp cocktail and assorted cheeses . Most likely, there will be a beef, chicken or fish entree. Best bet is to just come right out and ask her what she is serving . Brides love to discuss all the details of their wedding. You can shove a single Tuna packet in your purse just incase. As far as the champagne goes, I don't have an answer for that. Have fun !!

    Left shoulder pain

It's gas most likely. Walk as much as you can. It really does help. I would call your surgeon too just to be on the safe side.

I gave up sofa almost a year pre op. But I do miss drinking from a straw ????. Other than that, I really don't miss much. I thought I would miss my coffee, but it makes me nauseous just thinking about it ????

    Your doing just fine !!
  16. I take my BP twice a day. One AM reading and one PM reading. They both are on the low side so both my surgeon and my PCP agreed I shouldn't take it at this point. One less med ! ????????????
  17. My face and back are horrible !! And I have a stupid rash on my stomach ... I went to the Dr. Yesterday and have a topical cream and have to follow up on Thursday. My skin is crazy right now lol

    Craving protein shakes

I'm 5 weeks out and I do 2 protein shakes per day. It's the only way I can get my required grams each day. I just can't eat enough regular food to meet my goals. I have PS for bfast and pureed chicken usually for lunch (I melt LF cheese on it) and 2oz of fish at dinner. I do my 2nd protein shake an 1 1/2 after dinner. I can't fit veggies or fruits at this point. Iam trying to balance it all out but really just concerned with fluids and protein at this point. I'll get there soon enough.

    Thigh numbness and burning?

Yes, it only lasted a few weeks. My surgeon said it was neuropathy due to obesity. I had it prior to my surgery for many years, but just on my right side. When I walk a lot, or stand a lot it seems to flare up. It was both sides after surgery. It's gone for now ...
  25. I had numbness/tingling in both outer thighs for 2 weeks after surgery. I addressed it with my surgeon and he said it was neuropathy due to obesity. I have had this issue many times prior to surgery so it made sense ...
