  1. This is the best tip I have ever received. It has helped me, so I thought it might help others! When you have just finished eating and are STILL hungry- go brush your teeth and use minty mouth wash. Getting that food flavor out of your mouth will take cravings away!

    Hello everyone!

Hi Stacy! I am new here, too! I also have to wait six months before surgery. I have my first doc meeting next Thursday to get this party started. I am hoping the 6 months goes by fast! Good luck to you! Keep in touch!

    Head hunger

I would suggest using those Listerine breath strips for while you are out!

GO brush your teeth and use mouthwash. The mint flavor will stop your want for food. Sometimes getting the food flavors out of your mouth helps! Hope this helps you!

WAHOO!!! Good for you!!! Keep up the great work!! What a great feeling to finally see that 1 in front of other numbers on the scale! NO GOING BACK!!!
  7. Good luck!! I can't wait to follow your journey! Our current weight and goal weight is almost the same! I am SUPER new and just having my first dr. meeting next Thursday, so I am a long way from where you are, but wish you the best of luck!! Keep posting!!!!!
  8. Wow... I wish this book was available for my husband now! He is facing the macho peer pressure embarrassment factor driving him to not do the surgery. He keeps saying, "i just want to do it, but not tell anyone." I think he will eventually get it, but a book "by men FOR men" would really help! Keep going with this. I think there is a high demand for it!

    One Year Surgiversary!

You look FANTASTIC!!!!!! My starting weight is very close to yours, so to think that I could look similar to you gives me so much excitement!! Great job and congratulations!!!
  10. I would say it depends on your job. Friends of mine that have had it needed about 6-8 weeks to get back in the swing of things, but we all work at a hospital. (lots of walking and on your feet 12 hours...) Another lady I know was back to work after 2 weeks with a desk job. They say there is extreme exhaustion following surgery from adjusting to lack of food and water. Short term disability will cover your time off with a Dr's signature.
  11. 1 Weeks and 2 days until FIRST Dr. Meeting! READY to GO!!

I did my first visit yesterday and I wasnt seen for over 2hrs. I wish I could say it didnt piss me off but it did. I stayed so I COULD get this started but it wasnt the best way to start this journey.

2 hours!!! Ugh!!! That is a horrible first impression. I hope they were SUPER apologetic.

  12. What is the one thing you miss the most after having surgery? Could be anything... not just food. Let me know! Thanks!
