  1. I have not been able to keep anything down, even liquids is hard. I've been dealing with this for a week and I know this isn't normal. I'm 6 weeks post op and my doctor said every woman my age experiences nausea.... I have no energy and just trying to stay hydrated so I don't have to go into the hospital. Has anyone been through this?

    Post op Loose Skin

Some hospitals, one is saint Louis will actually do it for free and give the skin to burn victims. I had a friend who drove out there and did that. I'm not sure how you find out which hospitals do this.

    Depressed

I have been there girl! And still have those days! But it is getting better! Someone told me to write a list of all the positive things this surgery will do for me and look at it daily as a reminder. Also you can talk with your doctor, see what they recommend. It's kinda like buyers remorse. It does get better. I had mine on October 20th.

    meat eaters

Try anything and everything. I tried chicken salad and was not impressed. Maybe it was the way I made it. Fish, shrimp, shell fish? Also I make protein shakes with mango and strawberries. Also Greek yogurt. Good luck! I know it's frustrating!

    Just curious

I have 5 incisions. The one the hurt the most was where they put the draining tube. Ouch!
  6. You definitely see who will stick by you during the change of your life. It's heart breaking but at least you know who will be there when times get tough and change happens. Drinking has been an issue for me. I can't go out all night and drink like that anymore and lost many friends because of it. Now it's time to make new friends with the new you and build relationships with your new life style.

    Should I get an endoscopy?

Sometimes I think that I am eating too fast then other times right when I wake up dry heave. Then try to eat 30 minutes after and can't keep it down. The nausea is almost constant.

    Head Hunger

Well a lot of events are around food and we used to eat when we were happy or sad. Now we eat to live. You will get to have your favorite foods, except fried, but just in little portions. I think everyone gets the buyers remorse after surgery. But it gets better. I have no regrets even with the hard days. And yes food network helps! I watch it and i am still on track and eating what I'm suppose too. My family freaked out as well. But now they get it.

    Head Hunger

I read somewhere on this site about watching cooking shows and that was suppose to help with the head hunger. So I did watch them and it worked for me. It didn't bother me. It might not work for some people but it did help. I wasn't craving or anything. It was a weird suggestion but it helped.
  14. I eat about a half a cup. I don't measure but I know what it looks like in my head. Usually all I can eat is protein! But that's how my dietitian said its suppose to be.
  15. Mine was only for a month. It's interesting though bc I have reflex before the surgery and wonder if I should continue.

    Why did I do this?

I'm 6 weeks out and lost 50 pds but I still feel like that sometimes. Sometimes I have good days where I don't vomit and not as depressed then have other days that just suck. It's getting better though. I have a post nasal drip problem so I have a lot of mucus. My doctor gave me something to help with that. I know it's unpleasant. Hang in there it will get better.

    No energy

I am 4 weeks out and have no energy to work out. In the mornings I am worn out from getting sick. My doctor prescribed me zofran and an ear patch to help. Any suggestions on at home workouts or what you use for motivation?

    No energy

Yes I try and go to the gym like 3-4 days a week. I'll get on a cardio machine and after 10 minutes I'm drained. It's frustrating.

    No energy

It is for nausea. It doesn't help with energy. I guess we shall see what the time brings.

    When does the nausea stop?

I've been having nausea too! I'm 4 weeks out. Hot tea works and I also like the crystal light pink lemonade too. Being nausea or sick is not fun. I also have pity parties. Lol but everyone I talked too said it gets better. So it's not abnormal. Good luck!!!

    How long?

How long should a meal last? I am afraid I am rushing it, causing me to get sick.

    Weight gain right after surgery?

Yes water, all those fluids they pump into you plus all the air. I gained weight too but then dropped all of it and then some at my second weigh in!

    Medications

Help! I have several medications I have to take in the morning. Every time I take them I get sick. I tried spacing them out and taking them all at once. Nothing is working! Anyone have advice or go through the same thing?
