Cost of surgery
my bill was over 55K if I remember correctly, but my out of pocket was maybe 500 total, with my hubbys BCBS federal employee insurance.

Multi-Vitamins
@@JeffVII - "embrace the stall" is on here everywhere. they happen (stalls), so you are dead-on about not thinking too much about it. 29pounds in 1 month is excellent. Stay on track (off the scale - maybe once a week) and you will be fine. Check with your NUT, but I was told I could do chewable children's Vitamins (Flintstones), 2 a day. If it had Iron in it, I could drop the Iron supplement as well. I did those for a few months.

I have a question on grocery bills
@@Lovin2lose - get with your NUT and see what they recommend. There are lists on here of what you "generally" need immediately post but they vary from doctor to doctor. I just wouldn't buy ALOT of anything as your taste buds pre/post may change. Like the OPs said - we buy healthier Mine personally has gone down. We eat out a lot, but again - I am buying less "junk"

There is poop and I cant poop
I find that the more fiber I add tends to give me gas and cramping more than an actual BM. I add miralax to my coffee, yogurt, etc and it works best for me.

Just got sleeved yesterday
@@BlueEyes502 - focus on sipping Water though out the day. If you are drinking 64oz, break that up into four 16oz 'servings' and try to drink that amount within say a 3 hour period, then another 16oz and so on and so on...by the time 12hours have passed you will have consumed at least your minimal requirement. I cut back after about 6pm or I am up running to the bathroom instead of sleeping :/

Pre-Op Weight Loss
I wasn't given a specific amount to lose pre-op. I actually started my pre-op diet after I finished my last monthly NUT meeting. That was about a month before my pre-surgical appt. I was glad I did because I had the opportunity to do the surgery about a week earlier. I declined, because I wanted a "first in" appt for the OR, but because I was already working my pre-op diet. It was an option. I lost 16lbs, rather easily, by incorporating the post-WLS tool into my daily meals. More water, chewing thoroughly, cutting out a lot of sugar/caffeine...

Is this it ?

Advice for a newbie
@@biglady904 - There are always potential risks with any surgery. I think you need to think about the other side of the coin, all of the other health issues that come into play when you are heavier. You are only 26 and there is a lot more of life to live and to be healthy and to enjoy it is what made me to decide at 52 to do the surgery. No regrets! Welcome young friend to the BP family

Today is the day I get sleeved, FINALLY!
@@amandastearns - you will be fine. being nervous is pretty normal for most of us. pain management I was lucky with because I really didn't have any. I only felt uncomfortable trying to lay back, after sitting on the bed. The solution was to sit down and lay to my side, and then rollover to my back. I took RXs for the two nights and then went OTC after that. you got this!

Protein Powder
@@mandy - I like the Unjury. You just have to premix it with something BEFORE you add to a really hot liquid (coffee, soup, etc) it tends to make some small clumps.
