  1. @@BigViffer - ROTFLMAO - oh, and ROMT (rolled on my titties) - heres the best I can do as a non computer geek...Imagine L-O-N-G NBA player type tube socks, Wilt Chamberlain - - - here they are touching the floor ;/ UU
  2. I agree^ @@LaffeyTaffey you LOOK A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
  3. @@Nani_Mae current: 175 highest weight: 282 post-op: 1 year, 7 days and NO REGRETS! @@VSGAnn2014 I agree, I hate the double posts!
  4. I notice that if I eat something with a higher sodium content or hi carb it will NOT generally show up that day on the scale its the next day and the one after that. It takes a day or so for my old body to purge the retained Water. So if I eat a small square (2x2) or two of meat lovers pizza on Friday I will more than likely see a gain on Sunday morning and Tuesday or so its gone. That also means maintaining, if not bumping up, the water. For that TOM, I can go up 5-7 lbs in a day ;(
  5. I TOTALLY agree with ISG and VSGAnn - getting money from a family member could add to the stress post-op. Is he going to feel its his right to critique your food? Weigh ins? I understand doing whatever it takes but definitely get some guidelines in there for what is/is not allowed. Good luck, I feel bad that you are going to have to do that to get surgery.
  6. @@pinklantern - going to ask why does it matter what you are drinking or eating? When I go out to eat and we sit at the bar waiting for a table, I drink Water. I don't ask what everyone is drinking that are at the bar. I don't like scotch, gin and most dark beers. If I am with a group or party, and I have been, and they are all drinking Guinness I NO WAY feel uncomfortable about not drinking. If they start chanting TOGA< TOGA< TOGA - don't drop your sheet, but run! Trying to make you laugh... If they are eating calamari (ick), sushi (more ick) or Lamb (triple ICK!) - there is no way in heck I going to feel guilty about NOT eating. My point is I think it is more your perception. If there is "pressure" to try something, politely decline. My husband likes to eat out a lot. We have family get togethers at our daughters. It is all based on food. SIL fried a turkey, I had a couple of pieces and some grilled veggies, no one asked. Of course there were multiple desserts: cheesecake, lemon pound cake and banana pudding. I didn't even WANT it. This is pretty common menu at these functions and I have been asked things like "have you tried Grandmas homemade pecan pie/pumpkin rolls/yeast rolls?" and I said no I was too full on the other food. You have to focus on food being fuel for your body. You didn't go OUT to eat, you went to socialize. That, in itself, is a great reply to anyone asking why you are not eating. IMO, you don't owe anyone any explanations about why you are not drinking or eating like everyone else.
  7. @@CardinalsGirl - welcome. Good luck and keep us in the loop how it is going.
  8. @@4MRB4PHOTO - thanks for sharing, again. I remember reading this a long time ago
  9. Nope. You sound pretty darn normal. Afraid of failing, change, etc. You are amongst family, we get it.
  10. @@CourtneyLouise - Did you get the name of who you spoke to and when? I would call them and provide that info, especially if you went months without a bill and then got one again. I have BCBS fed and went to LabCorp and was fortunate enough to have that type of info and LabCorp wrote off the charges (over $1400). I specifically asked the woman did they take BCBS Fed and she said yes - I had her name and date/time I spoke to her. Apparently BCBS Fed goes back and forth every couple of year between taking LabCorp or not taking them. The OM said the check in person should have told me otherwise because they supposedly verified my coverage.
  11. @@NewLife1985 - so glad to hear you are doing so well! Those first few weeks are really hard and for every newbie that reads a post like yours two months post, it gives them hope! Keep sharing & posting! NO REGRETS!
  12. Another sleever on her way to the losers bench >>>>> Don't forget to measure yourself too, and CONGRATS! Keep us posted!
  13. I agree, @@MissMac nailed it, as usual! I do have one thing to add. You may find out that your honest opinions may ~~~~flow~~~~ more easily now, instead of holding back and not saying what you think. Take a breath and like MM said hang on for the ride
  14. @@WorkinOnMe - well done! I am 6 days ahead of you 5/6/15 and with stats very similar. It has been a great gift, amazing year....cannot complain AT ALL...
  15. @@Beck90 you said your surgeon "discourages" drinking soda, why not ask HIM why? Ask him the about the pros and cons.
  16. Being I have had to wear a bra since I was 9 I totally get where some of the ladies with a 42G or in my case 42M bra are coming from. I am 53, and down 90+ lbs since surgery 5/6/15, I NOW wear a 38G and its full. When I take the bra off: UU I am glad to be able to wear a normal size shirt because the BOOBS are not dictating the size, as much I lose the weight in my waist first, for some reason, so I have been at least lucky with that. Of course the deflated 'muffin top' thing sucks too
  17. @@Proud2BMe - you have done a great job and very inspirational to a lot of newbies! Keep posting!
  18. @@Lindsey Skinner Abbott - I would plan for two weeks after reading your last post ^. I have a pretty physical job. My BP dropped about 2 weeks after I came back to work. I noticed that more. Staying hydrated is also key. After about 25lbs watch your BP. I was moved to pureed on Day 3 and like the OP mentioned may have been why I didn't feel as tired as most. I had surgery on a Wed and took the rest of that week and the following off. I would have been fine going back the following Monday. I was stir crazy. Unfortunately you cannot predict how you will feel post-op, hopefully you will have a pretty easy recovery like I did. welcome to the BP family!!!
  19. @@gina171 - wouldn't hurt would it? I mean, you test drive a car before you buy it. If you really liked the first program then it will reaffirm your decision. As long as your insurance accepts both - I would check them both out.
  20. @@Dejaalex - Welcome to the family. I slid over, and when you are ready, your spot on the losers bench is ready!!!! congrats! keep us posted when you are able that you are up and walking!
  21. @csawesome - vent away, cry, yell, scream and get it all out of your system. Like OP mentioned there was probably something going on before that and he isn't going to man up the truth. Been there, done that. The first couple of weeks you are going to walk around in a daze. Stay hydrated, eat AT LEAST your required Protein and take care of yourself and your kids. Be prepared legally. Put a freeze on all accounts, esp credit cards. Change locks on the doors and get all the keys to the car YOU drive. If he wants to come by and get his stuff, he does it when you are home and make sure another adult is there with you. After a few weeks it will get easier - its those first few weeks and esp at night... Also be prepared, just in case, that he wants to come back~~~ don't do it! I would not do it without both parties completing marriage counseling while living in separate places. so sorry you are going through this... ((((((BIG HUG)))))) jane p.s. he is an A$$hole
  22. Going to grandsons ball game and not worrying if the fold-up chair is going to collapse is a big one for me.
