    NSV!

@@her1981 - you are so right. Exercise, able to enjoy your daughters birthday physically and feeling good about your decision to do WLS is a TRIPLE NSV! So happy you shared this good news.

    Am i in trouble?

@@GSleeve822 - you need to get Protein and at bare minimum 800 calories in your diet or you will be in the ER or hospital in the near future for multiple medical issues. Seek medical attention TODAY with your local doctor, and/or a walk in clinic, is my advice.
  5. @@chele367 - my son had a motorcycle accident Nov 2014 and is an opiate/pain killer abuser. Unfortunately the 3 days on continuous pain meds in the hospital put it right back in his day to day craziness. He is currently in re-hab. Had I known more at the time exactly what all he had been taking I would have probably had him put in re-hab straight from the hospital. I walked out on him, after a screaming match and considered letting him go to a homeless shelter rather than bring him home. It took 9 months (following an arrest) to get him hopefully on the right path. Please talk to your doctor for both the WLS and the addiction and see if there is any other alternative. I pray that you are able to beat the addiction and that your WLS is also a success ((((((BIG HUG))))))

    EKG complications

@@Marissela - I had to do a stress to because of a blip the saw on my EKG. I was told about 25+ years ago that I had mitro (sp?) valve prolapse and thought that was what they were seeing on the EKG. A MVP is when your valve doesn't close properly and allows blood to flow incorrectly is my understanding. For years I pre-medicated for dental cleaning appointments as there was concerns that bacteria from cleanings could cause more damage. As it turns out I never have had it, my heart is very healthy Don't panic - relax.

    changing date

@@RobertD16 - I would ask my insurance company as a "general statement". The question is why are they changing the dates again?
  12. @@provenzee - My normal BMI would have me at 163, I am 175. At 53, I am not looking forward to anymore skin dragging behind me, or flopping (TMI) in front of me. I am working towards the 160s, at 5'7+ I just saw my doctor at my 1 year and he didn't question my current weight just said "Wow!" - I will take that as a "atta girl".
  13. @@Christinamo7 - I like the new picture!
  14. @@sam1016 - I had some pain in that area but more centered around my belly button. That is where my stomach was removed from my abdomen. I did left something a bit too heavy and had a pain in that general area around the 3 week timeframe. Are you watching your weight restrictions? Are you pulling, or exerting yourself, getting out of bed where you may have pulled that internal stitch?

    Feeling Judged

@@Bufflehead - LOL Got to be careful though, some folks get offended if you say "bless your heart", I personally feel it is necessary in cases just like this
  16. @@RobertD16 so you have to lose 20lbs in just under 5 weeks. I am GUESSING its to help shrink your liver. If your surgical team sets guidelines PLEASE follow them so you can have a safe surgery. Good luck! Jane
  17. @@crazyplantlady - mine started around the 2nd month and went about 4-5 months (also when I was losing the fastest) and when the weight loss slowed - the hair loss slowed. I cut it just below my shoulders and now it appears to be thickening back up. Its a roll of the dice.... Having thin, grey hair is also depressing when you have had thick greying hair I can live with the grey - just don't like seeing it thinning like that.

    Purée

@@lb330 - Measuring it out and setting your fork down while you are chewing is a good idea. That is so you don't inadvertently eat another bite and you stomach will have time to signal your brain that you are full. How many days post are you? I had a soft scrambled egg for my first 'meal' and it was divine!
  20. @@RobertD16 - did I miss something? You are still getting the surgery before July 1st, 3 days before actually. They moved the date because you didn't make an apparent required amount of weight loss. Are you going to make in by the 27th of June? I understand you are frustrated. but not to be pissy, but part of this is your fault. Jane

  23. @@stephenmarksarro I agree you sound dehydrated...sip as often as possible. your urine should not be dark.....
  24. @@Express09 - stuffing is too risky IMO as it could form a ball in your new tummy. That is why the soupy type mashed potatoes are allowed at this point, although there is no Protein (unless you add unflavored) value. I have added flavored powdered protein to unflavored plain greek yogurt for a pudding type snack. I use 1 scoop (25 or so grams of protein, depending on what you are using) and added the flavored protein to a consistency I would call like pudding.
