    Post Your Silly Rant

People who bring young children to movies and expect them to be quiet/sleep through the Fast & Furious~~~~ or the idiots who talk LOUD or get on their phones during the movie. People who speak more than one language (ex: Spanish & English) that choose to have a conversation in whichever one is NOT known to the other people sitting there. Rude! I understand if the other person they are conversing with ONLY speaks that language, beyond that, it is rude.

    I'm freeking out

@@Erickah1 - that's pretty typical, being nervous. Relax, follow your pre-op and ask your team any and all questions NOW. Write them down. good luck! jane

    The great straw debate!

@@CHM - It really was...ahem...a question for everyone to think about. I figured you would take the challenge on and answer Which you did, perfectly! So when I suck, I should also blow (out the excess air) and swallow (not spit)... hmmm

What did I do to myself?

@@carlissa_RN - sounds like you have found out what you need to get on the road to this fantastic journey. Your stomach will be loud for a while, and it will be quieter and then all of a sudden get noisy again if its like mine. I am almost 13months post and every once in a while I will hear gurgling and "noises". Keep posting~ Jane

    Feeling Surreal

@@jenmcd623 - try on some of the clothes you wore pre-op - that does it for me e-v-e-r-y-t-i-m-e. Keep an outfit and really look at it....BIG DIFFERENCE! Measure yourself, if you haven't, and chart the inches lost YOU look great! jane

    Behaviors leading up to surgery

@@teachertara12 - not really. A lot of people have "food funerals", I didn't. I have been very lucky. There hasn't really been anything I ate before surgery, that I couldn't eat after passing my post-op diet, which varies from doctor to doctor. It is probably more 'mental' than actual hunger, is my guess Do you have a 2 week pre-op?

    I feel soooo full!

@@VSGAnn2014 here we go again..... I know this is a generalized statement for WLS, but sleevers don't have pouches - this is why some keep referring to a VSG as a pouch.

    Snacks /deserts

@@Proud2BMe - I am adopting that regime because having a "snack" for me isn't working. I needed this post - THANK YOU. Any food at this point, needs to be strictly nutritious and considered a meal, not a snack.

    Pain Scale

@ - I had a small cyst removed on my finger about 10 months before I had my sleeve surgery. Other than my wisdom teeth I have never had surgery either. Talk to your surgeon and see if you can get something pre-op to take. I COMPLETELY trusted my team so I was ok, still a bit anxious, but I also requested the first OR appt. I didn't want to sit in pre-op and THINK about it anymore than possible. Follow their instructions and you will be fine, ASK any questions/concerns you have so that you will feel a bit more relaxed. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress Jane

    The great straw debate!

While I am sucking, through a straw of course, I breathe through my nose - so I don't lose suction So are suckers dangers too? I like a good Blow pop once in a while @@LipstickLady, this is a legitimate question, please do not banish me to the island of misfit toys -

    Pain Scale

2 out of 10, maybe. No nausea, gas or pain really at all other than the occasional twinge from the left side. Laparoscopic surgery is awesome. My stomach was removed thru my belly button so itched and that was more of an irritant than the mild pain.
