    Divorce after WLS

@@Lexigurl82 - focus on you and your daughter - because the rest will fall into place. As far as the soon to be ex... can fall off the planet :/ Sounds like you have lost probably 200lbs of "dead weight" There are plenty of decent guys out there that know how to be a partner, rather than "dead weight" - NEXT!

    Dating

@@SleeveSoon - I do the same thing, I move food around on my plate at the family dinners. My WLS is known with my family and I am blessed to have no one ask, question, what I am/am not eating. Its really no ones business, but yours. When hubby and I go out to eat, I do the same thing, but its more like prepping for the doggie bags!

    Why did I do this?

@@nervousnelly719 - I hiccupped or felt a tightness in my throat as I was approaching "full". Unfortunately I did (twice) eat ONE too many bites and felt miserable for about an hour. I drank Water about twenty minutes after eating to ease the food through the stomach. I would measure out 2 oz and chew that very well and wait (see if you are REALLY hungry for more). If you can eat another oz fine. BUT - if you feel a tightness in your throat, STOP. Spit it out if you have it in your mouth especially anything dense. In the beginning I would measure out small 2 oz portions and not push to eat more. The gurgling stomach did happen for me too like @@Miss Mac - It did sound ridiculously loud too =O

    My body thinks it's funny!

I knocked on the OneDerland door for a while too and since before Christmas I have been in pursuit of 179. For a scale junkie this can drive you to shaving your head, having toenails/fingernails permanently, eyebrows shaved (there goes the Brooke Shields look)... the list goes on.... I did WWs too, and I know the ritual, of sorts, prior to weighing in

weight loss stopped at 7 months

I did the same thing (stalled for about 3mos) and just started seeing the scale move again. I am 10-1/2 months post. I started weighing everything and focused on a bit more Water, hitting Protein requirements, cutting out salt and moving! I also bumped my calories up about 200 because I am walking more and more everyday plus doing yard work on the weekends. I think that has helped too. I would like to lose another 15lbs by my surgiversary on 5/616.
  7. I was also on a restriction for lifting. Nothing more than 10lbs for two weeks like FrankiesGirl - don't risk pulling a stitch (that you cant see) and a trip to the ER or OR!

    Why did I do this?

@@nervousnelly719, @@lisyl & @@laura_rose16 - I think you all are experiencing the norm for most: buyers remorse (it does get better) head hunger (craving food, when you are NOT really hunger) the realization of your new "full" (yes 1 former serving now = 3 servings!) Stay on plan provided by your medical team: hydrate, move and protein! Stay off the scale, or only weigh weekly! Measure yourself now so when the scale doesn't move you can see the NSV in the tape measurement

    Protein powder

there has been a lot of discussions about genepros protein and it's small serving size. I haven't tried it so maybe I will get a sample or too. thanks for sharing.
  10. (((((((hug))))))) I still mourn my animals who have died over the past 10yrs...Duncan and Luna (labs) and Mickey and Jonathan (tabbies). I had to put them down and Luna was the hardest because she wasn't even two. It took me about 6 years to talk hubby into letting me get her because Duncan was our last living fur relative and we put him down in 2006. I went that long without a forever fur friend....never again. I am 53 years old going to have a fur relative until I take my last breath of I have it my way.... We now have a rescue named Sirius and I vow to never live without a pet. Hubby doesn't want to mourn another animal because it's so hard. I reminded him that we mourn because we loved them and they will be waiting for us on the other side. They loved us unconditionally.

    Prayers Please

@@mizzzzzzT & @@cbrown1 - I felt that way too. I had never had major surgery but it was honestly rather easy for me. Follow your doctors orders pre-op and get moving as soon as possible post-op and after you are able to eat pureed foods life seems a bit more "normal", it is a new normal, but definitely do able. hang on for a ride!

    What was your 'a-ha' moment?

Mine was a couple of things. I started my journey in Nov 2014 and after my initial seminar I wanted to do the sleeve. I changed my mind and for my daughter and time off work reasons I settled on the band. I got irritated with office staff and cancelled my 2 monthly classes I had to do for insurance (BCBS). I had completed one and met with the head doctor and the NUT. The head doctor and cashier pissed me off. All I heard was to NOT do the band because it was soooo outdated, so many complications and I wouldn't lose enough weight. That was in December. By mid-January I had added a few more pounds on because when I hopped on the scale (poor scale) I was 282. my HW ever - I could see 300 - - - I knew at THAT moment that if I didn't get my weight under control that I would be at 300 by 2016. I had already talked to office mgr with surgeons office and she apologized for the head doctor and cashier even voicing their opinions. I had to wait for the classes to cycle back around to get the final two I needed and was sleeved 5/6/15 - my new Birthday haven't looked back~
