Okay, more that a little miffed. A bit of advice/help would be welcome.
Because the body is fickle and will hold onto every ounce of fat. Stay the course. Once your body gets the message that you aren't dying it will release and the weight loss will continue. It times like this that make it important not to rely on the numbers on the scale as your only measuring stick for progress. Take your measurements. I do beck, boobs, waist & hips. Even on days when the scale isn't moving or appears to move backwards, those measurements will tell you how your body is shifting.

Weighing Benefits vs Risks
I agree. I was always an "active fat". When I turned 40 things changed. It became more of a challenge to do the things I liked. I didn't let it stop me but it definitely slowed me down.

50 lbs lost in first 5 months, then stalled for past 10 months
Speak with your nutritionist, find a level that is healthy for you and stick to that. It sounds like the frequently changing up is confusing your body.

How many calories do you typically eat a day. What is your average daily protein intake? Do you work out?

Appointment for phychiatary
Because this is as much a mental change as it is a physical one. They want to properly access your understanding of what this surgery means. A small percentage of people end up severely depressed post-op. This is a good tool find out if there are supports in place to handle that. Just be honest with them.

Weighing Benefits vs Risks
Know you and know your body. It's not just risks of having complications with surgery, it's risks of what your life will be without it. Pre diabetes means being on the cusp of diabetes. Are you ready to face life as a diabetic with all the meds and health complications that come with it? I did my homework and walked into surgery calmly and confidently. I had the easiest surgical and post op experience. I am not alone. However a post about walking in recovery, no issues with gas, vomiting, nausea, being able to eat everything and no constipation doesn't gain as much traction as a post about the awful hospital experience.

Loose skin chafing
Take pictures and make notes each an every time you have to go to the doctor or have an occurrence. This is your evidence to use if/when you petition your insurance company for skin removal surgery. My ortho already said if I need it he will write me a letter.

How much activity were you doing at day 3, 4 and 5?
I was pretty much doing that and I would take a walk in the afternoons for about 20 - 30 minutes, mostly because I was bored.

Protein drinks and supplements - organic, soy and gluten free
I just came across and email from Mambo Sprouts advertising Reserveage Protein powder. It appears to meet the requirements you were seeking. A quick google came up with a list of others.

60 grams protein?
Unflavored protein (try plain soy if lactose intolerant) added to soup or broth. Nut butter for a snack. When you make egg salad instead of mayo use half plain Greek yogurt and half mayo. It taste the same but boost your protein

Constipation !
Flax powder, wheat germ or psyllium powder can be added to a protein shake or yogurt

100 pounds gone party!
Now is the time to learn how to celebrate without food. That's a slippery slope that lead many of us to needing surgery in the first place. Why not celebrate by pampering yourself? Get a mani/pedi or treat yourself to a massage? I did a spa day with girlfriends this summer. We bought them off groupon.

6 mths is not the end of the world. If that's what your insurance requires, you'll have to suck it up and go with it.

Its taking a toll on me
You need to pick one nutritionist you trust and work with them. Each and every program has a different set of protocols and requirements. If you hop from one to another you will always be confused.

$500 for a group information session about the VSG?
The informational seminar I attended was free of charge and there was no program fee attached to my program My only out of pocket expenses other than copays was the fee for the nutrition class and I was told at my first appointment that depending on my insurance I would have to pay for either the psych eval or the nutrition class and how much each one was. Did you sign anything that requesting authorization to bill insurance? read over any paperwork they gave you carefully. Otherwise I would fight this bill and I would find another program.

Comfort food when sick
I like black rice. It actually has a decent amount of protein in it. I make a stir fry with it. I also like baked or roasted sweet potatoes.

You're on soft foods. So what foods do you like? You don't have to eat hummus or refried Beans. Find something high Protein that you like and eat that. Do you like chicken? Poach a chicken breast, cut it up and then finely dice it. Make sure you have broth or a tiny bit of gravy. Remember it needs to be melt in your mouth soft. Measure out ¼ cup and try to slowly eat that. If you like Soups, try your favorite Soup with a tsp of unflavored Protein powder added. (Do not cook the protein powder in it. Add it once it has been put in a bowl or cup).
