Every 4-5 years for the last 25 years, I'd hunker down with a low-carb diet and lose 60-100 pounds, and devote myself to the new lifestyle. And then it came right back on within a couple years. I'm a reasonably healthy guy, having run four marathons and two charity 545-mile bike rides in the last decade. And still I am hovering 80-100 pounds overweight. As time marches on, it welcomes Type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and now joint pain. It's time to take control for myself and my sake.
