  1. Thanks for the site. Those recipes sound really good. I'm eating a yummy, big bran muffin that my sister who is in ww invented and it has 2 WW points. I would post it with recipes somewhere but I don't have all the nutritional values Also it needs coffee along side so can't follow the no drinking rule. But if anyone is interested, let me know.

If you have recipe you can go to calorieking.com put recipe in and it will give you all nutrional values. or you can send it to me via email and I will do it for you. You may need a subscription to use their web site and I do

  2. 30 20 30 is the way I was instructed to eat meals: 3 meals a day no water/fluids 30 minutes before meal, eat meal in 20 minustes and then no water/fluids for at least 30 minutes after. I am amazed at your diet, I was told no solids/mushies for 4 days then only mushies till day 7 then a soft diet till day 14 then slowly add firmer foods.Supposedly so stomach can heal from trama.

  3. I am so happy for all of you, you are :rolleyes2: (group Hug) so inspiring to read how well you are handling all of this. I go in one week 1/31 and am a bit nervous. Have started Protein Drinks, have been off my Diet Coke for over a week, Now am doing the 30 20 30 eating pattern and am only drinking Water "64 oz per day.

Found liquid Vitamin at costco yesterday and am happy since my doctor took me of meds till week after surgery!

  4. betrthnever,

I have had all my scheduled meetings, seminars and consult with Dr. Blackstone. I am very impressed, due my health and age, I guess I am more worried they will cancel me at the last moment......but pray not.

I will try to keep you updated on surgery and aftermath!

I live in Prescott, and due to Super Bowl we will not be able to stay in Phoenix the week after surgery but will retun home after discharge from Hospital and then return the following week for checkout

    Thnks so much for answering.

  5. First of all thank to all of you who share and give all of us true hope.

I had my final pre-op visit with the doctor today and every thing looks good to go on the 3st. Skittles, you have really made me feellike this a doable trip. Like you I wanted some quality time in the years to come.

I am sovery glad to have all you with me on this journey.

  6. I am over 67 years of age. I was wondering if a lot of people my age hae had the surgery, and if they wondered about their age before having it. I have been obese all my life nearly, being born weighing one ounce under 12 pounds. Ihavedoneallthe programs out there almost, getting my lowest weightever down to 179 pounds. I weigh neasrly 250, and I would like to get rid of this weight. I haven't had heart or diabetis trouble and I am thankful for that. I don't want them and that is only one of my reasons for surgery. I would just like to hear from someone my age. I am scheduled for the surgery on the 16th. of this month. Thanks Rose

Rose how are you doing, let us hear from you. Our thoughts are with you. Even if it is tough we are there for you, and if it is not tough we want to hear from you!

Hip Hip Hurrah, you are on your way

  7. To All Karen, Sharon, Sharon160, and Becky

We really need each other as well as our support at home. It is a journey we have started and will do together which of course is easier then alone. I am nervous with 12 days and counting, I see doctor on Monday 1/21 for first time all other visits were for classes and evaluations. I have started to eat as told, on the 30 20 30 minute plan and eating my Protein first. I have managed to get 48 ounces of Water in the last couple of days and am trying to get in some walking in, knees and feet really hurt but do as much as I can. The breathing excercises are the roughest for me since I have a terrible time with breathing.

Keep up all the good work and stick together!

    Karen :)

  8. Hi Rose, I was so happy to find this forum and find that there are some "older gals" like me! I am 69. I have just finished my tests but haven't had the consult yet. I was so afraid that the surgeon would say that I am too old. Good luck with your surgery, I'll be rooting for you! Joyce

Hang in there while the test and consult is a "pain in the a--" in the end it will be worth it. keep in touch and this has become my favorite thread since I can elate to you all!
