Considering the lap band.
I had the lap band surgery, they don't remove any of your own body parts and it can be removed in future if you wanted. The weight loss is an average of 1-2 lbs a week it's slow but steady. Have you considered this type of weight loss. I also had doubts before I made the decission to have the surgery but glad I went through with it. I know I had to see a phsyciatrist and a nutritionist before Insurance would even consider covering the procedure, did you? I had to see psychiatrist 3 different times plus take a mental/personality test and she had to write a letter stating if I was mentally up for this, because it is more mental than phsyical. This is a lifestyle change and only you know if you want this or not, if not just keep what your doing, you said you were active step it up and hit the gym harder. I personally think it's much easier working out with less weight on my body, and it keeps getting easier

Coffee!
They just say stay away from caffeine(coffee)because they think it will be to rough on tummy. I was going crazy w/out mine , I called Dr and he said it was OK to drink as long as I could handle. I had no problems, but every Dr is different

3 wks post op. New Bander. New here
I was feeling the same way and we had are surgeries around same time, and also had to take trip to er 2 days after surgery and ended up in hospital for 4 days. I found myself very emotional and listening to negative thoughts. I think we're just emotional from the surgery and from being sick. Doing a lot better though and know I have made the right decision and this isn't an easy thing to do. Keep it up and it will pay off in the end

Hernias
WHY DO OVERWEIGHT PEOPLE GET HERNIAS MORE??? I had hernia surgery at the end of Oct.2014, which was very painful and recovery was worse than my lap band surgery I had almost 3 weeks ago, problem is when I had to have upper gi for surgery they found another hernia different spot. For some reason my surgeon didn't fix when I had lap band surgery and forgot to ask why. I'm wondering why are overweight people more prone to get ??

December banders, how about an update?
surgery date was Dec 23 I was outpatient, was home for Christmas Eve than started getting sick and ended up in Hospital Christmas Day and was there for 4 days. Dr still does not have a dx for me I couldn't keep anything down and was dehydrated and white blood cell count was high. Not a good start to a new me. Now I'm almost 3 weeks out and on mushy stage a lot better that the liquid that was rough. Seen dr this week and told me i could have regular coffee and made an appointment for 3 weeks later to get my first fill. Very anxious I have lost 18 lbs and know I have a very long road in front of me but for now that's all I think about all day long worse than before my surgery. I worry about the food I eat how much I can eat, am I going to loose weigh, and so on. So for now day by day just keep pushing myself mentally that I can do it and this rough time shall pass
