  1. It's gas. I highly recommend sleeping on an incline and gasX strips.
  2. How are you feeling? You doing okay?
  3. Yes, you are right am ponder. I've lost and gained weight lots of times over the years. And 60 lbs is a good start to reaching your goals!
  4. I'm 10 days post op and have been doing shredded Proteins and cooked veggies for a few days now. I plan to enjoy a spoonful or two of some holiday favorites, but mostly I'll do turkey and veggies. I'm not going to say that I will never eat anything I enjoy again, but I see it much differently now. I went to lunch after church with my family and a couple of friends and after the meal my daughters and my husband ordered a gigantic piece of cheesecake. I sincerely had no desire to eat it because the grilled fish I had completely satisfied me. I skipped the bread too…which honestly was harder than skipping the cheesecake. In the future, I may indulge in a bite or two of a favorite dessert….perhaps on a holiday, but I don't plan on getting out of control. I'm trying to get rid of type 2 diabetes, which means I can only have certain things in moderation for the rest of my life…and I'm okay with that. My desire is to have a healthy balance.
  5. I feel like I'll be home free once it's all gone.
  6. I'm still pretty gassy at 8 days post op, but it definitely gets better each day.
  7. Someone please tell me how long it might take for the gas to go away. It is truly the only discomfort I've had since my surgery, but it can hurt quite a bit.
  8. I had to eat out today too. I ordered soup and only had the broth. A breadless meatball sammy sounds good to me right now. I feel like I'm going to turn into a protein shake. :-)
  9. Oh no! Glad it went through. I take thyroid meds, but they are really tiny. I've been extremely afraid to try taking my daily multi vitamin. Maybe chewys?
  10. They tell me there are 3ccs in my band. I can see in the photo they gave me that it's not empty, but they did say "approximately 3ccs" so it could be a little less. How long does it take you guys to drink a shake? It takes me awhile. Before I get to the end, my head gets the "I'm not hungry" signal. I'm not going to stress over it. I only got 3 shakes in today (72g protein) and like 1/4cup of broth…and lot's of Water and crystal light of course.
  11. Atkins dark chocolate shakes seem to get things moving along as well.
  12. I mean on the body. Not so much the face.
  13. Any tips on caring for your skin during weight loss?
  14. I feel pretty good as well. Very little pain, just some gas. But I definitely feel satiety. I believe there are 3ccs in my band to start with. I have zero desire to eat. I have made myself drink my shakes today. I am 4 days post op, but I had no regional block, just general anesthesia.
  15. It's pretty tough...My doc let me throw in a chicken breast if I just needed food. Not sure what your pre-op diet is, but because my BMI was under 40, I got to have 1 meal a day with 3 shakes. My meal was either 4oz of chicken breast or fish and 1/2 cup veggies. I was allowed to have coffee and tea too, so that helped.
  16. Energy back. Had 3 shakes and 48oz of water and/or crystal light today. I did go to church but took it easy the rest of the day. Feel pretty good.
  17. Wow you did great! The pig without the blanket might have been good too. Love that about the pants ????
  18. Omg...did the hiccups hurt? Glad you're feeling pretty good. They put this clear glue on my incisions and mine are starting to dry up. I got up to 3 shakes today so I'm really proud of that. Still have a little gas in my abdomen. Never got it in my shoulder though. I think sleeping at an incline has helped.
  19. I got the Nutri Ninja Blender…I'm not yet allowed to add the fruits, but it sounds yummy. Can't wait to try it! Right now at 3 days post op, I still have no appetite. I'm forcing down my regular shakes.
  20. I hear you…just make sure you are using the low carb version slim fast. The regular versions can have up to 25 carbs and 18 sugars which would definitely slow down your weight loss. Best wishes!!
  21. That sounds pretty good to me, but there are better shakes than slim fast. EAS Carb Control or Bariatric Advantage or Atkins. Did the doc put you on slim fast?
  22. Tell us more…what exactly did they serve? Did you have any issues chewing thoroughly? I worry that I will forget when I go to my first gathering. How long has it been since your surgery?
  23. You look spectacular! Keep up the good work! Very inspiring.
  24. Hope you get through tho quickly. Best wishes an you're in my prayers.
