They put notifications on everything - gasoline may cause cancer, can catch fire, don't drink it. A little hyperbole, but it is almost that strange. They created a 5 cent bag tax, but they don't charge it at liquor stores when a customer requests a bag for privacy. That's not a joke. They fined a guy who was holding his cell phone so he could use the GPS (strangely it would have been legal if it was a GPS). Minor examples, but when you live where you can go your entire life with out having to go to a government office, California now seems oppressive.

Don't visit then. You won't be missed.

I'm stuck visiting. Family and work. Like I said love the people, love the climate, love the wine...but the damn idiocy of the government just blows my mind. Just leave people alone a little. I understand if you want to live in Laguna Hills and pay a premium for everyone being landscaped 100% of the time. But the state government imposed a fine on watering your lawn last year and the local government fined people for having a brown lawn. How do you win?
