Week 6 check in 40 lbs gone

Congratulations!!! 40 pounds is great! I'm less than a week post operative and am having trouble getting all the Protein I should be getting. I'm hoping it's just the swelling. Keep up the good work.

    Revision people help!

Just had my revision on the 4th and am still recovering. It's defiantely correct that the sleeve is much tougher to recover from than the band. But, so far it's worth it. I can already tell a difference. I had problems from my band from the beginning. The sliming, the vomiting, the pain. Turns out that my band surgeon put a metal band around my stomach instead of a beveled plastic band (what he was supposed to do). The metal band had cut a groove into my stomach and the band had adheased. Luckily for me, the groove and adhesion was in a part of my stomach that was going to get ut out anyway. My sleeve surgeon said that in a year or 2 I was going to have a real big problem. So, I now think that the sliming and vomiting your seeing isn't normal and could indicate a problem I hope not. But, I was lucky and decided to get mine revised before my issue got very serious. I think it's very worth it to revise.
  3. Hello All, I was sleeved on November 4th, 2014 and released November 5th. During my stay in the hospital, I received 5 - 6 bags of IV Fluid. When I came home, I weighed myself and saw I had a 10 pond weight gain. The night of the 5th, I went to the bathroom like clockwork, every 2 hours. This morning I was only up by about 2 pounds. I'm assuming that this is the Water weight from the IV's and it will eventually come off. Has anyone else has this experience? If so, how long does it take for the water weight to come off?
  4. Thanks for all the replies. It took me 3 days to get off the Fluid weight. I'm glad its' off. Now for the real weight loss!!! My drainiage has stopped as well. I'm still sore and a bit swollen. I was a lap-Band to VSG revision. I had problems with my band and the surgery took longer than expected due to adhesions and of all things, a metal clip that had been put arond my stomach instead of a beveled plastic ring. The metal had tor a gouge into my stomach. Luckily for me it was in an area the doctor was going to cut out anyway. Yesterdy I could only frinl 1 cup of Protein shake. Today looks like I may get 1 1/2 cups plus my Water. I even tried coffee!!! Yay for a half cup of coffee!!
