  1. I was banded initially. I had no weight loss at first. I decided to go in for a adjustment. I had a leak then. After a fight with insurance, they agreed to pay. I loss 85 pounds then. In 2013 I had the band removed and then a sleeve after discovering I had a slippage. They are telling me no weight loss since so close to goal. I think I may like the sleeve better since able to eat everything. I do want to get 25 pounds off lol


  2. Well I think I am the doing the same as you. Let me tell you I had my surgery in Mexico a year this month. I started talking to them and, faxed a food diary in December. They told me I wasn't eating enough. They want me to eat 1100 to 1200 per day which is 400 calories increase. I didn't loose any but think more carbs with the holiday. They then told me to eat red meat and that is helping. I do feel a restriction now. I have lost 5 pounds. I think steak is holding me for four hours now so I don't graze all day. Steak has more calories, Protein and less carb. How much weight have you lost? Did you have a band first?


  3. I have been disappointed in my sleeve. I loss 85 pounds with the band. I had a slippage and a leak and since my insurance wouldn't pay for a replacement or sleeve, I elected to go to Mexico for a sleeve and pay cash. That was in January 2014. Initially I wasn't exercising at all. In I started working out with a personal trainer three times a week. I am now doing cardio 3-4 times a week. I have recently been in touch with Dr staff in Mexico. I sent a food diary and they feel not eating enough calories. I need to increase by 350 calories per. I talked to them after a week. I gained 4 pounds but think related to mostly carbs with. I am again doing the diary with fewer carbs, more Protein and Water and see what happens. Will also talk to the doctor. They are telling me my body think starvation mode and is holding on to the weight. I was averaging about 500-600 calories per day


  4. I don't know. I loss 85 pounds with the band and only about 9 pounds with the sleeve in about 10 months. I have a personal trainer but told today I was bulking my muscles, now will start toning which is more rep. I have recently started running. I think if no prior surgery probably faster with a sleeve. I am a NP and my pts that had the sleeve has done well. My gastric bypass patient has gained all her weight back plus more. I hope that helps


  5. The same thing happened to me. I lost 85 pounds with the band and has managed to keep it off. I had my sleeve 10 months ago and have lost no weight. I have gained no pounds so that is good. I think I have some restriction now so I am trying to get all my Protein and Water in now. I have lost 4 pounds in the last 2 weeks. I have only felt the restriction about 4 weeks, I am trying to work harder at my workout now so we will see


  6. I had the band to sleeve almost 10 months ago. I didn't hear that until after my surgery. First loss 85 pounds with my band would still have the band but had two slippage and my insurance wouldn't pay. I was told two close to goal weight and also wouldn't feel like I had a sleeve for several months. All was true. I never had the feeling of surgery until one week ago. I lost no weight. Now I am forcing myself to eat and has lost 9 pounds


  7. I had my surgery 9 months ago. I haven't lost any weight but no gain. I lost 85 pounds with my band. I was about 20 pounds from goal. I thought my problem was my pouch. I have talked to my facilitator in Mexico to see how small my pouch is. I have never experienced no hunger. I have talked to someone about resleeve. I was told if my pouch was at the smallest, resleeve wouldn't help told that by original surgeon facilitator


  8. I am so frustrated with my sleeve. I had my surgery the last week in January 2013. I have lost zero pounds. I was told by my doctor it would be 3-4 months before seeing a restriction. I was also told I am not losing because I lost 75 pounds with my band. I was told not eating enough. I think I am just now seeing a restriction. I am now doing weight training, have a personal trainer and doing weights three times a week. I am not doing much cardio. I keep my calories at a 1000 or less. I do get my Proteins in everyday and most days my Water. I have wished for my band back. I had to have it removed because of leaks. Please help!!
