  1. I could not find our old topic. Today marks 2 months from sleeve day and I am officially 47 lbs down! It feels great! Sometimes I feel like I am losing so slow and then Ill just drop 5-10 pounds all at once. Ill start doubting myself but then I read these forums and find out I am right on target. I was wearing very tight size 20s before surgery and yesterday I bought 3 pairs of perfect fitting size 16 dress pants from goodwill. Yay! I tried to make those 20s last as long as possible but the other day when I came in the house with hands full my pants were down to my ankles by the time I got to my kitchen to set the stuff down. So I knew it was time to move it on! Getting closer and closer to onederland.....havent been there in 9 years...best decision I ever made. It hasnt been easy. I actually am about 1.5 weeks out from gallbladder surgery. I have been severely nauseous since Dec 13th when my gallbladder decided to go out. Then while investigating my gallbladder they found cancer in my kidney. So in a month when Im recovered from gallbladder I will have my third surgery in three months to remove my kidney. So no exercise yet...seems I have had a new surgery everytime I get released. BUT I do not regret anything. I feel so blessed to be moving towards health and am so thankful that my sleeve helped lead to finding the cancer very early. I look very forward to my body normalizing after gallbladder (still staying sick some). I look forward to being able to workout and tone. And I also look forward to these 16s I just bought hopefully pooling around my ankles in a couple more months :)

  2. I am only six weeks out and the sleeve has already saved me. Not for the reason you think. Yes I have lost 40 lbs and gone from a BMI of 42 to 35...but that's not the reason.

On Dec 14th I started vomiting violently and thought I had caught the stomach bug. When it didnt go away I went to see my surgeon. I was dehydrated so he pumped me full of IV fluids and gave me three seperate shots of anti nausea medicine while I was there to try to make me feel better. When the nausea didnt let up at all he ordered an ultrasound to check my gallbladder.

I went for the ultrasound and found out my gallbladder had to come out and THEN they also noticed a possible mass in my left kidney. So then my surgeon ordered a CT scan to further investigate the mass....

So to bring you up to now....the CT was done. I was referred to a specialist and got the news. Turns out I have a stage 1 kidney cancer mass in my left kidney. See if I had never had the sleeve, the rapid weight loss wouldnt have aggravated my gallbladder. And as my specialist stated, I probably wouldn't have found the cancer for another 5-10 years and it would have been a much bigger monster to fight as kidney cancer has no cure once it metastasizes.

So on new years eve I will be having my gallbladder removed and six weeks later I will have a partial nephrectomy to remove the cancer. Hopefully pathology will report it as a non agressive grade cancer and my prognosis will remain awesome with no further treatment besides CT scans every 3-6months.

I am so very thankful as I am only 28 years old and I plan on having a long healthy life. :)

  3. Sarina- I hir my stall after just one week!! So I was very scared. But logically I knew that the low amount of calories that I qas eating qould eventually lead to more loss. So I just tried to think of other things and wait it out.

MrsBailey- I think I kept my cool pretty good. I think it will be a lot bettwr from here on out since Im past my first one and know that they do end eventually. :)

  4. Its terrible!!! I lost that 17 lbs that first week and then my scale did not move for 2 weeks and one day....It was really hard! I just stayed positive bc all of my clothes are getting loose. I searched stall threads on here and see that everyone goes thru it. Some people stall for a month!!! But if you look at peoples tickers you see that they obviously surpassed their stalls bc they had met goal by now. So I just kept with the program and it finally broke. Im sure there will be many more along the way.

  5. I had my surgery on 11/11/14. The first week was rough. I had terrible back pain, i felt the 'fullness' pain with every single tiny sip of anything, and had terrible heartburn and nausea. I am happy to report that I have none of those issues now! I can eat 1/4 of a cup of food. I can drink larger sips...thank God. And i barely ever get any kind of pain. So far I have tokerated everything Iv tried although I have noticed some changes in how things tastes as far as what I love now. I love unsweet tea for one and before I would have spit it across the room. My starting wait before pre-op diet was 267. I was 260 day of surgery. I lost 17 lbs the first week post op and have been on a stall the last two weeks. I was getting so disheartened. I just kept coming here and looking at old stall threads so I could read their tickers and see how they all got past those stalls. Well the last two mornings I have dropped a pound so Im thinking the stall has broken! :) so 19 lbs down since surgery. Hope to hit 25 down by12/11 on my one month marker. :)

  6. I have PCOS and have not had a period in 18 months and the day of surgery I started spotting and 8 days later I am still going going going....its the mother of all flows. Ugh! The first few days I didnt barely lose anything and felt so bloated and uncomfortable and horrible cramps on top of pain from surgery. BUT as I focused on my liquids that went down and I was officially down 17 lbs from surgery day yesterday at my one week post op!! I just wish mrs flow would go away....I have not missed these. But I find its so funny that my body reacted that way....Iv heard of many PCOS people starting right after surgery after not having one for a long time and then becoming more regular as they lose. Its funny how our bodies recognize the change before we do. :)

  7. So I'm feeling so much better! Today I am officially one week post op and go for my first post op appt. So the day of surgery I weighed 260 according to my admit paperwork. Today I weighed in after eating twice, just took a shower, and soaking wet hair...and on my period...and i weighed......245!!! 15 lbs in one week!!!! Especially considering that i weighed 271 the day I came home after surgery from all the fluids...that will make anyone feel good. Also im finally starting to get my energy back. I was able to run errands, do laundry, light cleaning, amd cook supper last night. Woke up this morning and immediately started doing laundry again...yay to that! Just think how different we will all look just by Christmas!! :)

  8. My surgery was the 11th. The day of surgery and the day after was Clear Liquids only. Then began full liquids which I am on for 7 days. I can have popsicles, thinned yogurt, Protein drinks, broths, thinned cream Soups, milk, Water. Then starts pureed stage. At that point i can have refried Beans, mashed potatoes, cottage cheese.... pretty much any beed with gravy as long as i throw it threw a blender. Ill be on that for a week and then I start soft foods for a week.
