  1. i am in the exact boat as you. i have been having more gas than usual and been to every doctor to treat it. unfortunately there isnt a solution, just take gas x or whatever you can and see if that helps. i had an upper gi, video esophagram, endoscopy and they took Fluid out because i was too tight. it seems to have helped but i will always have gas pains, ive spoken to a few bandsters and they all have similar problems. our stomachs have changed thats just the gist of it!! i hope you feel better...

  2. hello everyone, im hoping you can help me. ive been banded for almost 2 years and never had any issues. ive had 4 fills one in december '08 and this past march '09 pain started in my left side. i went to my doctor and they performed a endoscopy and found nothing wrong so they sent me on my way. so i thought it could be from working out since i go 5 times a week and started seeing a trainer. so months went by and i dealt with the pain finally in june i went to my physician who took tests and cat scans and found nothing and then sent me to a stomach dr who also found nothing. i cant live like this anymore i am walking hunched over and am always taking pain killers at this point, its just so uncomfortable. can it be that the band got to tight? can that be the result since nothing else is wrong? im going tomorrow to get an unfill because a nurse advised me to do that but i need to figure this out its costing so much money in dr bills at this point. also i have been tighter i cant really eat chicken or meat anymore and even struggle with Water in the morning. but i dont understand, can that really be the problem and the uncomfortable pain im feeling?

    thanks!!

  3. Hello Everyone,

So I have wanted to get a group together for awhile now, it is hard for me to go to my doctors group because it is in long island, so I am now trying to put together a group in manhattan. I am looking for anyone who is in their 20's, banded and would like to get this together. As soon as I hear from people I will start to organize this group, im sure this will be great for all of us. It is so nice to have support when so many people dont understand. So please reply and lets get started!!

  4. Thank you so much everyone for your encouragement and helpful advice! Sometimes I get down and since this is the only place I can tell my true feelings (since we all go through it) I just thought to ask if I was doing ok. My doctor always tells me im doing ok, i just remember them telling me once that someone lost 100 at their year mark and they should have lost more. That makes me upset you know. But I am going to keep going even if it takes me another year to lose it all! Thanks again and I will keep you all up to date on my progress!

  5. Hello

So ive been feeling kinda down lately and im not sure what to do. My one year banded is coming up and i feel i havent lost as much as i could have. I have love a total of 60 pounds and i have 2 months til the anniversary, I go to the gym 5 days a week, eat right and lose slow.I even joined weight watchers at my job to keep track more. There were months i didnt lose and then months i did, i just feel with this surgery i have no excuse but i find i can still eat whatever i want and sometimes a large quantity. Does anyone else feel this way or does a certain amount of food really make you full? Ive gotten 3 fills already too. When you get the stuck feeling do you stop eating completely and wait for it to go down and then eat more or thats the sign to your done? I feel so alone sometimes and im mad that i have gone through this surgery and am not getting the results as i thought i would. My only justification for any of this is ive been dieting forever and never ate a crazy amount only during some binges which i cant do anymore, can this attribute to it? Do you think i should have an extensive thryroid check? HELP PLEASE!!!

  6. Hi...i was banded by Dr. Geiss 10/21/07 and i have to say since that operation i have had no problems whatsoever...and the staff is always on call to answer questions immediately...i felt very secure with Dr. Geiss even right after the surgery i had to call at 4am to ask a question and he answered right away...i think he is a great decision in a doctor...

  7. Hi everyone...i just need a moment to reflect on my weight loss and hopefully get some support and feedback...its been 5 months since my surgery and i feel like i have been losing weight but at a snail pace....i have run into my usual routine which i thought i was gonna give up once i had the surgery...i have lost 35 lbs so far...i just feel like i could have done more and i didnt, there are alot of moments that i overeat, i eat bad things and then there are moments that i eat great and exercise, i guess i just feel like i have let myself down because i made a promise to myself to be a certain weight at this time and change my habits by this date and i haven't. this year has started out rough for me personally but physically i have let myself down, i heard a comment the other day from someone i love that said 'thats all you lost, you could have done that without surgery'. in a way i feel maybe i could have, i just need reassurance from other people that have gone through this struggle and weight loss, but have overcome it, we have all gone through this thats why we are where we are, i just need to get over my habits. Please help! Thanks

  8. Im also on wellbutrin and im not sure if that helps but my sex drive is out teh roof and i have noone as of yet to go with!! im finally losing weight and feeling better about myself and i just dont want the men who are giving me attention...my idea is if i wait a bit more and lose more weight i will find a guy i truly want bc right now im not interested in some...haha but i am excited to find out if sex when i dont have all this fat on me will be so much better...and more positions!!!

  9. ooo i like that i didnt even realize that if you dont eat for a bit you are tighter...my restricition changes all the time i dont understand it...one second i cant eat anything i get so sick and then another time i can eat a whole sandwhich without a problem...i do stick to my diet but i mean why is it sometimes i can eat an apple and sometimes i cant?? whats the deal...and i am going to try that brownie mix it sounds good!!

  10. I have to say that my own expereince has been hard as well...i was banded knowing this wouldnt be the end all of my problem but i didnt realize that subconsciously i did...i had the surgery and expected to be skinny in a month and when that didnt happen i became depressed and always felt bad until i realized this is just a tool to help me but i have to do all the work...you have to change your habits or else it will hurt physically and mentally...nothing is worse then getting this surgery and going through everything with no success...so id say go for it but make sure you also recieve some type of therapy bc without it i wouldnt succeed at all!!

    Goodluck
