  1. Had my surgery yesterday. Incisions are pretty sore and the gas is uncomfortable. They found a small ulcer while doing the surgery that she fixed for me. Barely getting my Water in, hurts when it hits my stomach. But from reading on her everyone says it gets better each day. So ill just keep breathing, walking, sipping, and taking my meds!

  2. @@Brn2blossom unless you have complications you shouldn't need help. Many of us went home from the hospital and took care of ourselves just fine. It will actually help you recover if you have to be the one to get up and get your drinks, answer the door, etc., rather than having someone take care of those things for you. Good luck!

as long as i can get up im good, my older son can carry him to bed/highchair/car seat. My plan is to be as active as I can while im on hospital drugs so i recovery quicker. Wish me luck! Surgery tomorrow!

  3. I have 2 days until surgery! Im 29 from Seattle. I am also a food addict and have been involved with OA. My next goal after surgery is counseling. I know if I dont change the mental....I cant expect success in the long run. Knowing your weakness is one thing but learning to overcome it is another. I wish you the best of luck, and remember to stay positive. Its amazing what a good attitude can achieve

  4. My BMI is at 40 now, the last 10 yrs ive been between 200 and 250. Insurance is covering my surgery even tho I have no co-morbiditiys. Very grateful. Ive been able to lose 40...30...20lbs but ALWAYS get it back. Im ready to ROCK my sleeve! Ive researched a lot and have noticed many lower BMI sleevers have reached goal in about a year. Excited! Hard core for a year, it will fly by and Ill be happier, healthier, vibrant, and confident! Woot woot (surgery in 2 days...hence the delirium)

  5. You are just ten pounds above where I started. You did not say what your height was, but I am 5'4". What I did was reflect on what adult weight I was when I felt the healthiest, which was 135 pounds. That is do-able and not too extreme for my age (close to 63). It also still gives me a reasonable weight of 140 pounds, to allow for a little bounce back of five pounds. The surgeon approved 135 as a good expectation for my post-op results.

    im 5'5. Were pretty close!
