  1. I had to give it up. For me it was a good thing because I got to where I was literally drinking nothing but coffee all day. I'm not sure if it's suppose to be for life or just during the healing stage. You will have to ask your surgeon. I did share a small cup with my husband the other day (black) I'm still alive so I guess it was ok! I've never drank black coffee before but it was fine. I defiantly didn't want to add sugar and a ton of creamer like I use to.
  2. Yes it's normal and it will happen often o don't get frustrated.
  3. @@Bamagirl Yep sounds about right. The patients game is a right of passage
  4. @@Thinkingthinner1109 It's ok. You shouldn't be so hard on yourself! Your body got you to goal so don't hate it! It's going to be Ok. You have to indulge sometimes. It's life!
  5. Well I can't tell you EVERYTHING but I can tell you a few things about MY experience (not to be confused with what yours will be) I stayed in the hospital for two days. I have read about people being released the same day. It's not unusual. No one can tell you how fast you will lose weight or how much even on a liquid diet. That's impossible. I lost 12 lbs in the two weeks my pre-op diet was 3 protein shakes a day, Broth, sf jello and pudding. That's it. I don't know anyone who didn't initially lose weight. I'm pretty sure everyone does in the beginning. Now, wether you will lose a bunch little ect..Will really depend on your body and how much work you put into it. I know I'm not a ton of help but honestly I can only tell you what I know from my own experience. I'm 4 months post op and almost 60 lbs down. I don't Have any hunger sensor so I'm never hungry (not everyone has this happen) I'm not someone who can tell you about the exercising because I haven't really done any. I'm waiting for decent weather. I feel better now than I ever have. It's been a true blessing. I hope you have much success! Try not to stress.
  6. It's normal. Hopefully you will "grow" out of it soon.
  7. @@tak81 Zinc makes me deathly ill too but I've learned to take it either A: On a full stomach or B: (the preferred) at night before bed.
  8. @@dc0520 I'm just do the clip-ins and not for every day wear just occasions. I haven't lost THAT much...yet
  9. Drink some "smooth move tea" (actual name) you should be able to get it at Walmart or some grocery stores. Trust me it will work!! @@TereseG
  10. It can be pretty traumatic and I don't know why (some) surgeons and nutritionist fail to mention it to the patients. It's pretty common so they have to know this side effect. My surgery team didn't tell me, I just happen to be on here before surgery and read about it, then I brought it up to them in the office and it was a "oh yes that can happen" well don't you think you outta tell someday something like that?!!! Especially women!! I was pissed! Not that I would have changed my mind but just the fact that if not for this site my hair would be falling out and I would have no clue as to why or be prepared for it! Thank goodness for this site!
  11. @brian45502@brian45502 You can do whatever you please BUT for some of us like myself the small amounts of food I eat now would NEVER have worked for me pre-op. I would have felt like I was starving and surly would be miserable. I can only speak for myself but the surgery works for me in two major ways 1. I feel satiated with a small amount of food 4-5 bits 2. I don't have a hunger sensor anymore so I never "feel" hungry. These two Are not "normal" for a person who has not had surgery. I could almost promise you you will not be happy on my amount of food.
  12. You look wonderful! Congratulations
  13. @@Praiseiii No clue since everyone is so different. For the last 2 days I've only lost a few strands...surly its not over already?! Not that I'd be complaining but it only happened for maybe a week....so Weird.
  14. @@AvaFern Is there a forum in here that has prices people pay for certain procedures? I'm not quit there yet but I'm always curious to how much things are going to cost (I know it varies but ballpark)
  15. @@Bonawanabfree Congrats and good luck!
  16. @@LisaLou30 Did your nut say why you can't have protein shakes? I'm 4 months out and I still drink two a day. I wouldn't make the great protein numbers without them.
  17. That's odd. I wonder if the shape is due to you having the band before? Mine is defiantly a skinny little banana and I have major restriction..your right, that's a good question for the surgeon
  18. @@fit4life123 They are addictive little things aren't they!! They have been a staple in my diet since month 2! I order them by the boxes and my favorites are chocolate chip cookie dough and cookie n cream! I eat them in place of meals and at 2 bucks a pop I don't think that's too expensive for a meal..I have yet to have any stalls 4 months out and a lot of days I end up eating two.
