  1. @@nprcowboy Did they give you a reason why you can't? I took mine 20 mins after getting out of recovery. It's true it won't help if the gas is out side the stomach. I didn't have any gas pains but I wasn't going to wait to see I just used them. I would want to know why they said no.

    Protein Shakes help

@@living55 premier protein ready-made shakes are my hands down favorite. I Used them for my two week pre-op and I am now post op as of Monday and I still love them! Especially vanilla and chocolate!
  5. @@pmo23 Hi! Congratulations. I would start practicing not drinking with your meals and experiment with some different protein powders or ready-made drinks For before and after your surgery. Do as much research as you can. There are a lot of great inspirational people on here that will help you along your way. I was just sleeved Monday and I felt really prepared thanks to all the help I received. Remember every experience is different, every journey has its own list of rules to abide by. Good luck to you!
  6. Im in the OR waiting to got back. If you could say a little prayer for me I would appreciate it. I'm doing good so far. I just want this over! On the plus side my anesthesiologist is a cutie! Of course he is who else would you want staring at your big ol belly lol! Thank you all in advance!

    Prayer please

@@BellaLuce4 Oh I probably won't drink it to much after just for that reason I just use it now because I'm not even getting in 400 Calories with it. I don't care too much for sugar free products so I'm trying to stay as natural as I can. This is just for now. I like water too this is just a nice change from plain water I don't "love" my isopure but I make myself drink a few oz just for the protein benefits. I will be glad when some time down the road I can eat My protein instead! I'm looking forward to that!

@@BellaLuce4 Thank you. I'm surprised how much I can actually get down. I had 20oz of coconut water, 4oz Of plain water and 4oz of isopure. Better than I thought it would be. I also had 1 tablespoon of Fage 2% plain yogurt mixed with another tablespoon of chobani banana Greek yogurt. It was delicious. I just ate really slow and I was able to get it all in. I'm not pushing it though. I'm just sipping water for the rest of the night!
  9. Hello everyone! I am officially sleeved and leaving the hospital today in great spirits. I would just like to pass a tip along.....buy A plug in air freshener for your hospital room. My goodness I got so many complements on my wonderful smelling room From all the staff. It's funny. I even had One of my nurses come in my room and said she knew I was still here because my room smells heavenly. Everyone wanted to come in and sit with me lol!!! I have a private room so I didn't worry about offending a roommate. It's just a apple and cinnamon glade plug in. It does make the room feel more like "home" than a hospital room???? I just thought I would pass this along...as a comfort measure.

    What size is your sleeve?

@@Jennifer Rogers I just had mine done Monday and my surgeon used a 38 French also.
  13. @@Seashelles I feel for you. This is not an easy process by any means. I know all the fears you have because I had them too. I didn't cheat but please believe I wanted to! I just had to constantly remind myself what this was all about and why I had to do it. If your surgery turns out anything like mine you won't be hungry after surgery....I know that sounds unbelievable to you at this time but I Had my surgery Monday and I still have no hunger. I enjoy my clear drinks but I Have no desire to eat at all. It won't be as hard for you as it is right now. Your body is use to eating and nothing has changed that feeling yet. It is hard but just try to look past this misery and keep focused on your goals. Maybe right them down. I will tell you what I did. I took some pictures of myself in a bra And undies and everything I started going crazy wanting food I looked at those pictures, drank my shake and moved on! It might sound strange but it really worked! Good luck!

My big comfy recliner is now my bed for the next few days my husband and daughter got it all set up for me so I'm comfortable while everyone is gone for the day. Coconut water?

Oh and in case anyone is wondering I got the O.N.E coconut water at Walmart it's kinda pricey 33.8 oz for 4-5 bucks but as little as we can drink it's really not that bad at all. It have 45 cal for a cup and 10 total carbs with 8 grams of sugar. It's also high in potassium and is fat/Gluten free. I drink it ice cold and I love it!

    Coconut water?

Ok I just got off the phone with my surgeon and he said coconut water is an excellent way to stay hydrated so as long as my sleeve agrees with it its fine. It does have natural sugar in it too but he said that doesn't so much matter right now he just wants me to stay hydrated. So I got my answers! And he said to give the almond milk a another week or so and then see how my sleeve reacts to it.

    Coconut water?

I will ask about that too. It has to be clear for the next couple days so I can't have any milky products. Luckily coconut water is completely clear. It's Taste so much better to me than plain water.
