    Scared to death.....

@@deftonestiffany It's normal to be scared I think we all Probably where but how hard is it on your heart to be overweight? Do your research and you will make the best choice for you
  2. @@Hertz Nope but I was given my injections daily in the hospital.
  3. My surgeon has a patient coordinator and it was her job to get everything together and sent.
  4. @@nprcowboy Yuck! Don't you as a patient have the right to refuse to have students? I know that sounds harsh I had some too last week but I didn't mind because I had to be the student Once too. In fact like your wife I was "teaching" my students what to do too (but I enjoy that kind of thing) you or your wife have a reason to not want students and coming from an ex student it won't be the first or last time you are told a patient wants an experienced staff taking care of them. I don't know why they didn't send you home with a anti nausea medication (maybe that's not a routine order from your surgeon) but I would surely ask/demand something.

    Whats a reasonable goal

@@Brn2blossom Wow I just realized I didn't even set one. I would say pick something reasonable maybe based on a BMI that would put you in normal range (they have online BMI calculators if you didn't already know) . Just keep it realistic so you don't get discouraged. Good luck to you!
  6. @@dgross No I think we all do it....we kinda have to! It's a good thing though, you should know what's going in your body so obsess away!
  7. @@nprcowboy Did your surgeon give you anything for nausea? If not maybe you should ask him/her. My surgeon gave me a prescription for zofran and a strong anti acid prescription I haven't been sick yet at all.

  12. I was reading some articles and I was wondering if anyone developed acid reflux after surgery that did NOT have it already before? I'm just curious. I don't have it at all right now but I read about some people having it after surgery and it doesn't say whether or not it was a new problem for them. Thank you!
  13. @@Mel13 Go to Your room! Seriously take yourself away from them when they are eating! That what I had to do with my family. My husband and kids are not overweight in fact my husband is a mailman so he walks all day. They are extremely supportive but I can't expect them to change their whole lives because I chose to cram junk in my mouth For years. With that being said it's not easy at times it down right sucks and I have been known to throw their junk foods way back in the cabinets or anywhere else I Could hide them out of sight. They got the hint after getting tired of looking for stuff all the time. They know I don't expect them to change the way they eat but I do expect them to have the decency not to have it strung out where it's a constant reminder. You will have to come up with some coping skills to help you get by. Good luck!
  14. I can't eat regular food yet but my friend who Had RNY eats smoked salmon with cream cheese rolled up at breakfast (sometimes with capers or thinly sliced onion) I fell in love with it so I am looking Forward to having that for breakfast...lunch....ect!
  15. This made my heart hurt for you. I can't even imagine how horrible It would be to go through all that when I'm sure all you wanted to do was get healthy. I'm so sorry this has happened to you and I pray you will get some answers and some relief. Please take care.
  16. Hello all! I am a little confused at this point on waiting to drink 30 before and after I eat. I know I have to do that but I'm only 6 days out and I'm still on full liquids. All I've tried is cream chicken soup thinned and I mix 2 tablespoons of Fage 2% yogurt with 1 tablespoon of chobani banana yogurt and I table spoon of unflavored protein powder from GNC for extra protein. I can have more things but I'm taking it slow. I don't have any trouble eating those things but I just realized I wasn't waiting the 30 mins. I started today but are we suppose to do that with our full liquids? Thank you and I hope everyone is going fabulous!
  17. @@honeybunz Ok thank you the full liquid part is just confusing me. I went ahead and waited today 30 mins before and then 30 mins after. It wasn't hard I just didn't know if it was nessasary at this early stage. Thank you for answering

Truly don't know what to do

@@Jennifer Rogers I have to use the whole can because it's not as much when you have to strain it I also don't dilute it at all. If you try it taste it before you dilute it to see if you like the flavor and if you find it too strong then add water to it.

    Full Liquids

@@Susan909 and of course I don't eat the cream soup straight out of the can I do dilute it with water plus I add some unflavored protein powder to it. It's too strong to eat just straight.

    Full Liquids

@@Susan909 No I don't really feel hunger but I eat and drink because I know I have too. I don't dislike what I am eating I just don't have that desire for food as of now. Do you like French onion soup?

Truly don't know what to do

@@Jennifer Rogers I know That doesn't seem like a lot of protein powder but if you like it you can have more servings of it over the day and it will all add up.

Truly don't know what to do

@@Jennifer Rogers I only add about a table soon. This French onion has such a strong flavor I can't taste the powder at all. I can taste it on some of my other soups but this kills it. I probably could have added more.

Truly don't know what to do

@@Jennifer Rogers Oh I understand! I just heated up some Campbell's French onion soup (strained it) and added protein powder to it and it's Really good! Do you like French onion soup? You wouldn't even have to strain your at this point. I haven't tried any other brands but this Campbell's is delicious! Good luck I hope this passes for you!
