  1. Hi everyone. I just got out of the hospital last night and I was wondering if anyone used coconut water on the liquids after surgery? I will probably call my surgeon later and ask for sure but it is clear and I read it hydrates better than water. My sleeve seems to do ok with it.
  2. @@mochax When I had my surgery last Monday my insulin went up so high after surgery I had to get insulin shots twice! I have NEVER had an insulin issue. They checked my Blood sugars q4 hrs and it went low right before being discharged so I had to drink some OJ. I believe they are normal again now.

    I need advice

@@Eharmon5 Do you like egg salad or tuna salad? They are both good in protein. Or I hear ricotta cheese with marinara is good. Can you have smoked salmon with cream cheese rolled up? That's soft and protein if you like fish

    Hungry?

Hum ok well I'm out of ideas. I was going to ask you what you were eating but you said in a post before you were a vegetarian But you want to eat a chicken bowl. I wouldn't even know what food to suggest. Good luck you will figure it out.

Well again everyone is different but I'm 10 days out now and I have 0 pain. I could work a full shift and not have a problem. My surgeon also gave me a b-12 shot today although I told him I really don't feel like I needed it. I'm not low on energy at all. The last thing I was waiting for was getting my staples out today, other than that I would say I've been back to "normal" since day 7

    Does Everyone Get a "Drain"

@@GreenEyes604 I had one..in fact I ended up taking it out myself last week but not everyone has one and some people only have it while in the hospital and they get it pulled before they leave...My surgeon wanted me to have it for 10 days But that didn't happen. It's up to your surgeon.

10 months out and having problems

@@acampbell1318 First, take the word "can't" out of your vocabulary because you can and you obviously have. Second, I'm really big on lists. Take time to write out a list or a little "reminder" of why you started this journey in the first place. I get a lot of inspiration from pictures and other people's stories on here, YouTube ect... I can almost swear by the bra and undies pictures. If you feel comfortable take some. Are you content With what you see? Just know you do have the power to change it. Now stay away from the junk and Go kick some butt! You can do this!

    daughters concerns

@@Bubba's Mom Hi! I think we as mothers spend so much of our lives catering to our children and families that we keep ourselves On the bottom of the totem pole which for some of us has contributed to our weight issues. I know as a mother you want your daughters approval, you love her but this is your time. This is about your health and your Quality of life. Sometimes you have to do what's best for YOU. I think we have pretty much all thought the same things "I can do this myself" "I just didn't work hard enough, this time I will" trust me I thought the same thing but I finally got sick of the roller coaster of constant ups and downs with my weight so I decided to get off that ride. I think anyone would tell you this surgery is not a fix all. You will still have to put the work in and eat right, exercise ect...but this tool will help you to lose the weight if you work with it and allow it to work for you. If you look at the big picture what are the chances you will succeed on your own without it? I'm defiantly not saying you couldn't but do you want to try all over again or Are you ready to make a change? Only you know what's right for you in your heart. There's nothing wrong with backing out and there's Nothing wrong with following through. It's a life changer and its your decision to make just make sure you are making the decision for YOU

Well overall it's been good. I've been "lucky" to not have any issues with food or liquids this early out. The whole approval process was smooth without issues. The time went a lot faster between start to finish than I thought it would. Surgery went well, I was in a bit of pain In recovery and then the first 3 days I was home until my pain meds where adjusted but other than that I really can't complain. Oh except I hated my JP drain but I took it out and felt instantly better just small trivial things. Of course my case , journey ect. Whatever you want to call it Is probably going to be different than yours in different ways since nobody's process is exactly the same but that's my story in short. It's a learning process and I just stay calm, focused and roll with It.

    Hungry?

Do you feel Like you are getting "full" or satiated by the 2-4 tbs of food? Are your meals a form of protein? Do you wait the 30 mins before and after a meal to drink? So 24 oz of water but you can have more if you can handle it right? Are you spacing everything out so you aren't going to long between feedings , shakes, ect? If your all ready doing all that then GOOD job! It may be head hunger, Boredom , or maybe you are just hungry. I would give your NUT or whomever set these goals for you a call and see what they say about it. You shouldn't have to feel "that" hungry! ☺️

    Hungry?

@@Aribay1 Oh I would not do that. Fast food this early is too much. You want to find good nutrition for your new belly if possible or at least do what you said and make it your self. kFC bowl is a bunch of overly processed garbage. Try to treat your new belly as If it's a new baby. There are way better options out there. Are you only 1 week and 6 days out or did I read that wrong? That's amazing if you are and are allowed to eat that. I'm only a couple days after you and I'm still on full liquids for another whole week. Surgeons are so different lol! Anyway I hope you find something that will Keep you satisfied throughout that day. Maybe egg or tuna salad? How are your 3 meals? What are you eating and are you measuring enough out? Just be careful and don't hurt yourself! good luck!
  15. @@bebop09 What was your reasons for starting the process and coming this far? Something made you take the first steps. Maybe you could write out a list of the pros and cons and think about what's really important to you. For me it wasn't completely black and white I knew I was going to do it but up until they wheeled me out to the OR I think I told my husband a good 5 times "you know we could leave and they would Understand" but of course I didn't and I'm so thankful I went through with it because I know it was the best decision for me and my life. It's scary because you Don't know what to expect and no one can really tell you exactly how you will be afterwards. Everyone's journey is different. It's not an easy decision to make. I wish you all the best

  19. I'm just wondering if anyone uses any thing on the surgery scars? My husband bought me Mederma advanced and vitamin E oil. I just had surgery A week ago but I put it on. It's not like I'm going to be competing in any bikini contest but it would be nice to have them so visible. Does/did anyone else use anything and did it help?
