I had my sleeve done over 1 year ago, sometimes I get the most awful painful gas in my stomach that I have to stop whatever I'm doing and lay down and pray. It usually lasts about 20 minutes and I feel like I'm dying. First time it happened I thought about calling 911 because I thought I was having a heart attack. Now I know it's just gas. Does this ever happen to anyone else? And what do you do about?

Glad to hear that you are getting the full sleeve.. My bmi was 32.5 to start.. It's now 26.1 - pretty much exactly 6months since surgery. (I've lost 20kg). I don't feel like I will loose too much as the weight loss has been very slow and steady and continues to slow.. I am active -doing xfit 3-4 times a week and building some good muscle. My goal originally was to loose 11 more kgs to be a bmi of 22 but I think I'll be happy to loose about 5 more kgs.. Just see when I get there.. The weight just had not magically dropped off me so I don't feel loosing too much is a genuine possibility at this point.
Hello, what do you mean when you say you are getting a full sleeve?? As apossed to what? Half a sleeve? I don't understand?

How about when we stop by the diner I usually get a cheese omelet. I eat half and take half home.
My problem is the guys I work with always want to stop by a bar and eat bar food, I never know what to order with them. I'm not crazy about meat in general, sometimes even chicken is too greasy. I never eat fries. See my delema.

I got my sleeve done over a year ago and he never told mr what to eat. Since I'm on the road most days I eat out a lot. Today chose a bagel inside scooped out and cream cheese . I've been stuffed all day and I'm done eating.
Other days I eat a lot if cottage when I'm home and yogurt. But most days I'm on the road, stoping at pleces to eat. I need ideas when I'm on the road. I am 1 year out of surgery, I got sleeved ,I lost 40 pounds rather quickly doing what I'm going. If I could lose and 20 pounds, I would have reached my healthy weight. I need suggestions! Help

I usually eat one meal a day. Then a yogurt at night. I was wondering if it's unusual to be able to fit a whole bagel with cream cheese a year after sleeve surgery. I'm hoping I haven't stretched out the new stomach too much.

Anyone else? Do you think this is weird?
Thanks!

I've been enjoying a few cold beers during this hot almost summer. Does beer count like soda or a carbonated drink? I know they both stretch the sleeve.
Also, how much will my sleeve stretch??

I was just reading the dudium switch forum here and a man who had the DS done 2 years ago says the doctors now know the stomach stretchs up to 75% of a normal stomach. Now I'm thinking, the DS surgery is like the sleeve because the doctor sleeves your stomach, then goes on to reroute your small intestines.
Does anyone know after a few years does the sleeve (which is done in DS operations) stretch?
Just curious. If so, I'm going to eat a lot smaller portions knowing this could happen in the future.

Thank You Everyone! I'm making sure I get enough Protein and started drinking more Water. I eat cottage cheese which helps me get the Protein in. Drinking 64 ops of Water is difficult for me. I'm used to sipping coffee all day. I have more energy since getting sleeved, which is great.
Wish it was warm outside, I'd love to go for a walk.
Spring can't come soon enough!

The bouie is the instrument the doctor uses to to sew your stomach closed. The smaller the bouie the smaller your stomach will be. Well, most people are told by their doctors they used a 36 or a 38 size Bouie. And some doctors such as my own tell me the weight lose is the same with a 40 size bouie.
Does anyone know what size Bouie was used on them? The smaller the number the smaller the stomach is.

I had the sleeve done on December 10 2014. Everything went very well. I'm not in any pain. Since it's winter, I'm been sitting around the house not doing much. And I only lost 12 pounds. I thought I would have lost more than that in a month.
I'm kinda disappointed.

Hi I have a question over a year ago I had a gastric sleeve operation. the surgery was a success. I've never had a problem I never threw up, and I can eat whatever I want without getting sick. OK so that's the good news, here's the bad news before I had the surgery I suffered from very bad acid reflux. I take Prilosec every day, here's the bad news before I had the surgery I suffered from very bad acid reflux I take Prilosec every day Otherwise my acid reflux is very bad. I spoke to my doctor about this and he said that after the surgery after I lose weight maybe my reflux also known as GERD would go away but it didn't. On top of that I think I might have an ulcer. The doctor said that we could change the gastric sleeve into a gastric bypass, but how would that work ?? A gastric sleeve patient still has the stomach inside of them and the stomach juices from the stomach goes into the pouch to help I just food . If I don't have a stomach then how is the food going to be digested.? I'm really nervous about doing this. Any thought?
