  1. 20 pounds since surgery? That's awesome! Did your doctor or NUT give you information of your progression of foods? Clear liquids, full liquids, puree, mushies, solids? Can you give us an example of what a typical day of food is like for you. Have you had your 1 month follow up? If not you can bring up your concerns then too.

    Any Clevelanders?

Early stage pre op Cleveland sleever here. I'll be going through the Cleveland Clinic, my third weigh in is on 12/10.
  10. I have a different insurance carrier but I had the same concern. I'm currently at 41.5 bmi and I brought up my concern of falling below 40 at my 2nd weigh in with my nutritionist and she said it didn't matter how much i lost they go by the very first weigh in at the start of the supervised diet.
  11. I've seen vets mention adding higher calorie snack choices. I can think of things such as various nuts if you can handle them, butter when cooking or a little butter/cheese or sour cream on veggies/ eggs.
  12. I think that's exactly what people in maintenance do, adjust their calories/diet to find a happy median of not losing and definitely not gaining along with exercise =).
  13. I am thankful for @@RachaelThomas for our new found friendship. I'm thankful she thought to share her experience with her insurance carrier and specific plan because she is the only person in the state with the same plan that I have found on BP. She's genuine and shares her experiences without being annoyed by my questions . I share my short comings and she always has an encouraging word. Thanks @@RachaelThomas! Thanks BP Community for the wealth of knowledge in each thread!
  14. That's great, I wasn't sure If Ohio medicaid plans covered this service. I sent you a pm.
  15. @@thenovelist Any updates? Have they approved your request?
  16. Thanks for sharing, your progress is amazing!

    Still skinny.

    You look great!
  18. I'm early in the process, and Medicaid will be my coverage for surgery. I've seen quite a few people mention using Medicaid and Medicare as their insurance and were approved for surgery. Do a search for Medicaid or Medicare on the top right corner of the page. http://www.bariatricpal.com/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=search&fromMainBar=1

    UHC Community Plan of Ohio

That seems to be the format for everyone that was approved. A supervised diet if required by your insurance, preoperative tests, physch eval, maybe a support group and insurance that covers bariatric surgery. The magic receipe =). Best of luck to you!
