  1. Hi All It really has been quite a while since I have checked in. I hope everyone is doing well. It looks like a few new people have joined since I have last been here. I continue to lose at a very slow rate now, about 1 lb a month, but at least it is heading in the right direction! I have pushed off my fills a few times as I still have restriction. As of last week, I am down 70lbs since starting this journey about a year ago and 59 lbs since surgery! I love my band!
  2. Hi All, I have been sick with a sinus infection. I have not eaten very much so I am down. Hopefully it will be lower when I can start eating again. Start: 169 Current: 163 End: 159 Goal -10lbs (6 down, 4 more to go) I doubt I will make another 4 but you never know!
  3. I am also addicted to the scale as well. I weigh at least 2 times per day. I need it to keep me in the right direction. I find if I don't I start down the wrong path with eating and exercise.
  4. I don't have any problems with anything. I think I am one of those rare lucky ones.
  5. Wow - sounds like all of us had a loss this week! Last week: 165 This week: 164 -1 lb This is going to be slow going and I just had to move out my next fill for a few weeks. I may need to move it out again as long as I am losing 1-2 lbs per week.
  6. I notice I am more tighter during TOM. I would watch it as well. If you PB, Vomit, notify your MD.
  7. Last week: 166 This week: 165 Down - 1 lb I am only about 1.5 lbs from hitting overweight versus obesity! Yeah!
  8. I really hope this fill works for you! I have only had 2 and I am thinking about moving out my next appt that is schedule for the first week in April. Everyone is different. I find that I can eat anything I want but I get severe shoulder pain if I eat too much. I also starting getting a runny nose if I eat too much! I am still having very slow weight loss, about 0.5 lbs/week on average.
  9. Still working hard to get this weight off! Start: 169 Current: 165 End: 159 Goal -10lbs (4 down, 6 more to go)
  10. So far so good! Start: 169 Current: 166 End: 159 Goal -10lbs (3 down, 7 more to go) I am now only 3 lbs away from being overweight from obsese!
  11. I think I finally broke my plateau Last Week: 169 This Week: 166 Change: Minus 3 I went on prescription Vit D so maybe that had something to do with the loss. Let's hope it continues!
  12. Count me in! For me: Start: 169 End: 159 Goal -10lbs Let's hope this works!
  13. sounds like we all did fairly well! Heartfire - the next one is yours! I need to keep this up. Happy Valentines Day!
  14. First of all, let me apologize for missing last week. I had a family emergency and everything got put on the back burner. We can use this thread for our final weigh in's on Saturday. I know I am not going to make my 10 lb goal, but I may hit 5. I looked at what I was eating and found that I was having a glass of wine each night, sometimes 2. I stopped that and think that helped me jump start again. I also found out that I am Vit D defecient and started back on the prescription form. Start: 174 Now: 169 I don't know if I will lose anymore by Saturday, but who knows! How did everyone else do with the challenge?
  15. Hi All, I have been told by my MD that he does not think a fill will help. He does my fills under fluro and said that he filled me the "max" he felt comfortable the last time so he wants to hold off until April before trying again. I have to agree with him. I am happy I have not PB'd and I do not have physical hunger, it is all mental at this point. I did take the suggestion to start measuring again and writing it all down. I know that my portion sizes have increased. I also bought snack bags to put bandster size portions together so I can quickly grab them. I also bought the book, Beck Diet that I heard is a psychological approach to eating. I will let you know if it is any good or not. Thanks for the support and lets hope next week I can finally say I lost weight!
  16. Ok, I had been doing so well and now I have hit the brick wall. I know this is my fault and not the fault of the band. I just cannot seem to get things started again. I am at least maintaining my weight, but I need to lose another 30-40 lbs. I have only lost 1 lb since my fill about a month ago. I do not go back for another fill until April. To be honest, I don't need a fill I need a lobotomy! I eat way too much, that is the bottom line. I used to write down everything I ate because it always less than 1100 calories. Now I am eating probably 1400-1500 which is way too much for me in order to lose. I am not hungry but still eat. I never PB if I eat too much and the only difficulty I have right now is I will get a pain in my left shoulder if I eat too fast/too much. I have been working out 3 times a week which has saved me so far, but that will not last. I just want to get back into the grove. Any suggestions? Any books to read? I don't want to go back to what I was after all this hard work. Thanks!
  17. Oh no, that stinks! Hang in there, at least there is a plan in place. Now that you know that there is a problem you can fix it. Keep up the great work you are doing with your exercise and you will continue to lose while you are waiting for your port replacement.
  18. I cannot believe it has been 6 months! My achievements: lost 58% of my excess weight went from an (US) size 20/22 to a size 12/14 Went from a waist size of 45 inches to 34 inches Lost 63 lbs Went from a BMI of 42.8 to a BMI of 31.3 No more Blood Pressure Medication! Actually training for a 5k I am also proud to say that I am a very happy bander!
  19. Wow - some people are doing great! Congratulations. I am stuggling like others, but it is in my control. I need to put a game plan together to get out of this rut. I know that a lot of this is due to DH surgery and the holidays. I am grateful no gain, just maintaining. Here's to a great week for all of us!
  20. Mommie - great job! Lellow - I hope your foot is better soon. Yes - I do need to get in the gym more. I think that is part of my problem as well as the junk I am eating. This is all my fault so I have to control it.
  21. I am surprised by the BMI 26 which in US is considered overweight. I would only need to lose 24 lbs, and maybe that would be good! Thanks for the nice note, I hate plateau's! I need to get my head in the game again.
  22. Let's hope so! Please post all info for the challenge on the weekly updates so I can keep track easier. Thanks!
  23. lello, Wow - I have not even thought about PS yet and here you are making a surgery date! I work out 3-4 days a week as well, but have not seen as good a result as you have. I know everyone is different, but I want this off me now! LOL. You don't have much in your band either which is wonderful. Good luck and yes - take lots of pain meds.
  24. Hi All, Well another crappy week and another week with no loss. You would think the fill would have worked, but only 1 lb in 3 weeks. My MD won't see me until April! I may need to call after 1 month and tell them I have not seen any loss and hope they can get me in. I know when I spoke with the MD for this fill he said that he is surprised that I needed another fill. He said that most patients are fine with just 1-2 fills and I am now looking for 3! Oh well. I did get in 4 workouts last week, but the sweets in the office and the wine at parties were my downfall. I stopped the wine on Monday, but the sweets are still getting to me. I have thrown everything out and put a note on my door NO SWEETS ALLOWED! Let's hope this works! Here are the latest results. I don't see everyone's number, so let me know. 25. Amy, Wow - 20 lbs with a condition you are having? That is fantastic! You should be very happy on what you have accomplished so far. Being in the gym is what has gotten me so far so fast. I am now seeing the plateau which is very frustrating to me. I need to kick things up a notch so I can start to see some kind of loss. Together we can all do this!
