Post op help needed - hunger

Thank you guys so much! I went tonight and bought the 14 day dose pack of Omeprazole @@Kindle you are right, it says right there on the box that it could take 1-4 days to feel results. I did notice today when I took 2 Tums that it did calm down, so I'm really thinking it's acid, but it could also be hunger, too since I'm eating so little. I agree with you @@BLERDgirl that I don't think I'm eating often enough. I can probably transition to 3 meals a day when I'm farther out, but for now I think I just need to take a few bites (that's all I need) of something every 2-3 hours. How many calories should I be at, at 3 weeks post op?

Post op help needed - hunger

@@BLERDgirl I will try that. It's so frustrating because on the weekends I can sleep in til 9 or 10 and I'm literally not hungry until 2 pm. Then for the rest of the day I fight the hunger feeling after I eat.

Post op help needed - hunger

@@collinus I feel it in my mid-stomach area, like behind my belly button, which I know is silly because isn't our sleeve located much higher? For instance, when I feel full, it's just below my breasts in the center.

  7. Mine recommended 3-6 months. I was a year out, so thankfully I passed lol

    Old and new memories.

Congratulations on your new family member! Much love to you both!
  9. Why are you worried? Just listen to your sleeve, take tiny bites and chew, chew, chew. No need to worry over it. Eat protein first, lay off the carbs and alcohol. You'll probably not be released for all foods by ten weeks, but you'll find that it's not hard to eat normal things. I'm only 17 days out and I don't have a lot of trouble with anything in the stage I'm in now. The only difference is that you'll eat much less.

    Question

Yep, that's how I felt. My energy came back a little better around day 9, but at 17 days post op I still get a little dizzy sometimes. For your soup, just blend it up in the blender really good or strain out the big chunks.

    A HA!

    When did loss get noticed

I think a lot of this depends on your height. I'm only 5'3" so I think it's sooner than if I was much taller. I'm down 42 from my highest and people are really noticing now. My BMI was 42 on surgery day.

    Elliptical? Few weeks out..

Phenomenal! This was the best decision I've ever made in my life, next to choosing my hubby! I have had no problems and feel better than ever before!
  17. It's your life. You get to choose who or what you tell. I didn't tell a lot of people, but there are some people that I won't mind telling if they ask. I'm a REALLY nice person 99% of the time, and I'm private about a lot of things, but I'm also one of those people that will get nasty and in your face if you talk down to me, and make you wish you hadn't been born, so nobody is gonna give me any crap about it.

Scared to Death for Post Op

Meh, most people don't have those complications. If you do, you'll be fine like @@LipstickLady said. The real question is, how bad do you want it? How many times have you said to yourself, "I would do anything to be thin". Well, here's your anything. **And just to be clear, I'm not minimizing the experiences of those who truly have had serious complications. To those, you are all my hero.
  19. Holy S**t, sis! You mean I should think about it?!?!?!?

    Comparison: VSG to C section?

Well, I've never had a C-section, but a few years ago I had a tonsillectomy and it was a million times worse than my VSG!

    Cleaning out my closet

I totally get that. But, if you donate them to Goodwill or a WLS clothing exchange, or maybe even someone here on the boards, they will all go to good use and you can be happy knowing you paid it forward

    Insurance worries

I have Anthem BCBS and was approved in a week. I only lost 2 lbs from first visit to approval. As long as you're over 35 BMI you should be fine. But, they will want to see losses from the pre-op diet most likely. Like @@Elode said, each one is different though.

    80 grams of protein?

Try Genepro. 30 grams a pop and you can add it to your liquids. Easy peasy!
