@@wantingabetterlife - you made me feel so much better! I think it is just those last week jitters. I am excited about this new chance but those little doubts manage to creep their way in somehow. So so glad to hear you are doing so good!

@@Revgirl - thinking about you.......
@@smb0187 - thanks for keeping us informed. Sorry to hear about your mother-in-law - hopefully she will make an appointment for further testing as soon as she gets home.
What time did you arrive that you were able to get your testing done yet today? Did you see your surgeon yet? How is the hotel?

I used my HSA - just had to let the account know ahead of time that I was going to debit my account for a "non-typical" amount for me.

Seriously started my pre-op diet today. Had 2 Protein shakes, grilled salmon, steamed broccoli and raw snow peas. I CAN DO THIS! I am traveling for work this week and went out to eat. I was very specific about my food. The waitress saw that I was reading about sleeves and said she had a sleeve in June and has lost 74 pounds already. She showed me pictures of "before." Said she would do it again in a heartbeat AND she made sure they prepared my food w/o all the extra junk. :-)
Great news about your deductible!

I am reading "The Sleeved Life" by Pennie Nicola - it briefly mentions insurance to cover complications if your own insurance does not cover bariatric surgery. I am self-pay and that is one of the things I have worried about - if something goes wrong once I am back home, will my insurance cover it. Has anyone checked with your insurance company to see if they would cover post-surgery complications or have you purchased a supplement policy? Where do you purchase a supplement policy? I truly think I am not going to have any issues but I would rather be prepared.

@@Eclectick - I am November 24 as well. Not nervous yet - more excited and hopeful than anything. Have you started a pre-op diet yet?

My surgery is 4 weeks from tomorrow. YIKES! I am starting my PRE-pre-op regime of doing 2-3 shakes plus a salad with Protein for dinner. I think getting a jump on it will be good for me mentally. Had an appointment with my doctor who is going to monitor me post-op. She gave me a prescription for Zofran melts and liquid Lortab for post-surgery. I am so relieved about getting that in place. She even gave me her cell phone number to call when I get home if I am having any problems being that I get home on a Friday. I am not going to have any problems but it sure is nice to know I have someone I can call if needed. I'm not getting nervous yet - more excited than anything. Hoping the IV nurse is gentle because I DO NOT like IVs. I read an interesting blog on another site about the equipment not being the most up to date for blood draws and the hospital is clean but not the kind of clean we might expect. That is the first negative I have heard about equipment and cleanliness. How about you guys???
