  1. Hi all, I had my sleeve done in 2014, lost 7.5 stone and gained 2-3 stone's back. I have been advised to have the bypass due to severe acid reflux. So I'm thinking of having a revision so I welcome this postand your thoughts. I don't see to much stuff on the successes of having a revision. I'm told by surgeon my weight lost will be slow due to the fact that must of my excess weight 75% had been lost when I had the sleeve, so my starting position is different, he says I'm likely to lose the weight I've regained maybe a little more not that much around 45-50Ibs which is ok by me. I'm interest to find out how much people have lost in 6 -12 months of having a revision from sleeve to bypass.

  2. Hi there, you are better off outside as the ground is not flat, working against the gradient, less likely to get bored and you find outside your body will want to walk faster. Before you know power walking will then jogging and lead to running. I tend to burn more calories walking outside.

  3. The reality is WLS surgery is a tool, whether someone diets or have weight surgery they can still can put on weight if they don't manage their food intake and exercise. Yes people do rush into having the surgery without thinking the long term. It took me 7 years before deciding to have surgery because I wanted to try other diets and see if I could lose weight myself.

The person who started this thread I'm sadden by your weight gain, only because the problem is not the weight surgery the problem is that you have not manage or learnt how to maintain and adjust to the new lifestyle 3 years on. The thing is you will see have make changes if you dieted on something else. You should take strength in the comments from this thread and start with a fresh. No point in being angry with regrets, live with it, learn from your experience and move on.

Everyone one experience is different thank god!

I had my surgery 2 year ago in August. I was 320 lbs and couldn't run a half mile. I just competed in my first triathlon and have raced in 3 half marathons. I can't believe how far I have come.

I did this for my kids and now they want to compete in triathlons. I am a proud dad.

OMG!! You look great. What do you weigh now ? Well done you look amazing.

  5. Hi there Veronica, I have just read your post. If your working out with that intensity you must look at increasing your calorie intake to another 200, working out to that level will get your body to stall, also you are building muscle mass which will also get the scales to stall or. slow down your weight lost. So increase your calories to healthy stuff and make sure you drink more Water and see what happens in the next 3 weeks.

  6. Hi there, I had my surgery on the 15 October 2015, I started at 294, surgery weight 282 and now 190. I hope to lose another 33lbs. I have been working out hard and trying to keep up with my healthily eating plan which sometimes can be a daily struggle but seeing the results is helping to keep me motivated .

  7. Hi there, it does depend on your daily activity and what you have been eating earlier. When I exercise in the gym, I need more calories, so I up them by 100-200. On non work out days I eat around 1000 calories. I try and eat stay healthy Snacks throughout the day such as carrots, almonds, cashew nuts, yoghurt, banana or pieces of ham or a boiled egg. This kills the cravings for carbs or unhealthily foods. Also I found watching TV makes me want to snack, old habits. So I try to healthy stuff instead like a handful of cherries or have a Protein Bar. I have also found eating every 2-3 hours with healthy food kills the need to snack on wrong foods.

  8. Here's mine. I am 20 months post op. Started at 290 am now resting at 161. I am 5 feet 8.75 inches tall. Very happy!
Well done for you'd hard work. We are of similar height and starting weight. I want to know what was your rate of weight lost per week or month? And what kept you motivated to keep going?

    Just interested to know.

This is the breakdown monthly that i kept for the first year post op. I weigh in regularly, because i feel that it keeps me honest. My tastes have changed since vsg, and i love my greens! I also love to run, but i walk minimum of 40 miles a week for work, so i don't run regularly now at this point. I still stick with a cup of food per meal and can stop when i feel satisfied. I only have 1 Protein bar per day....shakes are not regular at all now...their only as needed, if im sick or out running. My food of choice when out is a salad tho....i keep it simple.

    Hope this helps![/quote
