  1. Here is what my surgeon gave me. Not completely restrictive.
  2. That is so sweet! I love that!
  3. Oh my! Your pre-op phobias are exactly like mine!
  4. Its all I think about! I only have 1 more monthly weight check & my NUT appt to complete my pre-op requirments. I can't get everything done quick enough! I feel like once I start the pre-op diet it will really become real that I am actually going to do this!
  5. Is it weird that as I stopped to get fast food for dinner tonight, that I literally had a conversation with the bag of food? I lett it know that our relationship was an unhealthy one and that this was the last time we would be doing our thing together. Luckily the bag didn't have much to say in return, lol. I'm going to take its silence as a mutual parting of ways.
  6. November 17th for me. I only have my NUT appt & final weight check.
  7. I'm well, thank you! I have one more pre-op weight check as well as all my pre-op blood work etc with my PCP on the 20th. I meet with the NUT on 11/3 & have my pre-op appt with the surgeon on 11/4, start the modified liquid diet, then surgery on 11/17! I can't wait! When is your date & where are you in the process?
  8. That is a good question! I just got a copy of the diet. Idk really what to do with the info, though. For instance it says SF carnation. Does it have to be carnation?
  9. Oprah did a show years ago when gastric bypass was becoming popular. Many individuals failed to work the mental health part and transfered their food addiction to alcohol. It in no way says that it is definitive that WLS causes alcoholism.
  10. My story is that I haven't always been a big girl. I was average in high school & even got to the thin side when I was in the Army. In my late 20's I quit smoking & polycystic ovary syndrome slapped me upside my head. The weight came on quickly. My heaviest was 250. I am now 233. I am choosing surgery because I am tired of living in a body that I don't feel is mine. I see my 12-year-old son (who has always been fit) getting chubby and I see the toll it has taken on his self esteem. I now take him to the gym with me and we are exploring healthy foods together. I look forward to teaching him how to be healthy rather than how to be overweight. My surgery is scheduled for 11/17/14.
  11. I just joined yesterday! Very nice to meet you!
  12. I see a fair amount of people going to Mexico!
  13. Lord, I hope that will be my experience!
  14. I'm almost there & looking for a buddy. Anyone getting sleeved on 11/17 or close to it?
  15. Yes, you can still have the surgery.
