  1. I am 7 weeks out and have been having intermittent pain in the left side of my chest and up into my left shoulder since surgery. I contacted my Dr. and he felt it was likely reflux and doubled my PPI. But I am still having the pain, it is very mild. I am not having any tachycardia and no fever. has anyone else experienced pain like this?
  2. I had my gallbladder removed in 2010 and had sleeve surgery in December 14. My pain right after surgery was really only in my large incision. I have not really had any pain from my stomach besides a mild discomfort when I drink or eat too quickly. I would say the gallbladder pain was fairly similar but I have had a little more pain in my largest incision than I did in any of my gallbladder incisions.
  3. That's awesome! you look great! our stats are really similar, hope I have the same success in the next few months! Go Ducks!
  4. I am going through the exact same thing. My surgery was also on 12/16. And I haven't lost any weight in the last 10 days. Its super discouraging. But Im just trying to stick to the plan in the hopes that eventually this stall will break.
  5. two nights in hospital. Took two weeks off work from my desk job. No problem going back.
  6. I took two weeks off, and I am glad I did. I work a desk job but having to sit in the same upright position for 8 hours a day has made my largest incision sore.
  7. Hi all, I am about two weeks post op and I have noticed that whenever I drink anything, my Protein shakes or just Water my heart starts racing. Nothing too crazy but enough that I can feel it. It doesn't seem to matter how slowly I drink or how small my sips are it still makes my heart slightly tachycardic. Has anyone else experienced that?
  8. Find out what the out of pocket max on each of the plans is and whether the deductible applies to the out of pocket max. I do cost estimates for a hospital and I have found that the majority of patients meet their out of pocket maximums with bariatric surgery. So it really just comes down to what that number is.
  9. Find out if the hospital you are going to has a financial assistance program. The hospital that I work for offers assistance for qualifying households. Its worth asking about.
  10. Im being sleeved on Dec 16th and Im utterly terrified and a little excited. I think I will feel better when I wake up after surgery and its done.
  11. I do liability estimate for patients for a living and 9 times out of 10 if a patient is double covered and they have met their deductibles they end up being covered at 100%
