    Toronto support group

I'm not sure. I go to the TWH support group on Wednesday nights. Though I wouldn't mind meeting everyone one time.

Where are all the Canadians ?

@@anewme15 Hi. The first few days were okay except for the constipation. But the past three days I've been dealing with light-headedness. I almost fainted twice while using the washroom. I talked to the nurse this morning. She says to keep as hydrated as I can and to take my time getting up. Not helping so far. She did say if it keeps up to go see my general practitioner. So I hope it improves over the next couple of days since I'm not up to drving yet. Thanks for asking. =)

    Any Canadians? Ontario?

@@devolyn Glad you're home and feeling good. There's no place like home! You have a cat too! Mine wouldn't stay off my lap as I relaxed on the couch yesterday. She was so happy I was home. My hubby doesn't spoil her like I do. I started out feeling pretty good with just some pain around the middle. Last night though I was hit with constipation and I'm still dealing with it. Pretty awful. Before checking out the discharge nurse warned me that this could happen but I've never had to deal with it before so it's a bummer to say the least. I've taken all the Senokot and Colasce they said to take so now I'm working through the other options on the sheet they gave me on checkout.

    January RNY Surgery

@@cab127 It's good to be home isn't it. Glad to hear you're keeping down fluids. I was worried about that too but it hasn't been much of a problem. Just remembering to constantly sip every few minutes is the challenge. I was doing pretty good until last night when I was faced with constipation. Unbelievable. I'm drinking water as much as I possibly can and taking all the Senokot and Colasce that they told me too but still, this is awful. I just had my dear hubby go out this morning to buy Milk of Magnesia. I hope that makes it easier. All part of the journey I guess and this too "shall pass" sometime soon I hope!

@@cab127 I'm sorry I thought you were on Jan 9th. I think I've lost 8lbs. Like you I've also enjoyed my Opti-fast. But I will be happy to move on to the next stage. It's hard cooking for my hubby and not eating any of it. But it's all going to be worth it I'm sure.

@@freshair I'm sorry you didn't get the answers you wanted. You can always call them and request a session with whomever it is you want to see. They are so helpful there. Where are all the Canadians ?

@@cab127 Sorry to hear you had a rough day. Think of it as another insight to help you be even better in the future. I know all Moms have a big red 'M' on their chests but this is a period of time, this whole weight loss journey thing, where you'll need to try to put yourself first. Thanks for asking. Day 3 was better than the first two days. I hope today is even better than Day 3. Not feeling hungry as much as empty. No actual hunger pains except when first getting up in the morning. I guess I'm used to feeling full or overstuffed even. Maybe this is what a normal stomach is supposed to feel like? I've been playing and experimenting with the shake recipes. The Crystal Light tangerine/grapefruit flavor is my favorite in both the vanilla and the chocolate and coffee mocha is a close second. Hang in there. The prize is worth it.

Where are all the Canadians ?

@@cab127 I'm so happy being back at work went well for you. That's a big plus! I hope I can find myself not hungry after the 3rd shake. This is only day two for me so I guess I'm still going through the break in phase. Looking forward to day 3 or 4 where I heard it gets easier. I was mildly hungry all day yesterday. Nothing terrible but annoying. Hopefully today will be better. And you're right staying focused on the goal is important. Jello is not the same for sure. But my mouth was happy to chew on anything. I also have a low calorie chicken broth that I find very satisfying. And tea! Caffeine free herbal teas have been great once or twice a day. They help break up the monotony. Congrats on the 5 lbs! Now that's a real bonus!

Where are all the Canadians ?

@@freshair That's how I look at it. 13 more days to go. I figured other people have somehow gotten through this so why not me. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Yes this cooking while on a liquid diet thing is really annoying. Thankfully my hubby eats leftovers and I am very grateful for that. I had made a big pot of beef stew on Sunday so that will hold him over a few days before I have to torture myself in the kitchen again.

I started Optifast today! Woohoo! 2 weeks to surgery. So far my favorite one was for lunch. Vanilla with tangerine/grapefruit crystal light. It tasted like a Creamsicle. Loved it! I've also had a bit of Jello with lunch and chicken broth for my afternoon snack. @@cab127 how are you doing today?
